Oak Ridge Bicycle Center Oak Ridge Bicycle Center was opened in 1973 by Charles Harrison and Michael Yurconic. Come by and see us.

Their partnership was short-lived, and Harrison took over until 1976, when Bill Winters came in as manager, and then owner of the shop. We outgrew the shop 30+ years ago, but we've been in the same location all these years. We've seen major bicycle brands come and go over time, but have carried Trek and Gary Fisher for several years. It's an interesting business, and we may yet figure it all out. Until then, we'll keep doing our best to take care of our customers, and treating people like we'd like to be treated. Many thanks to Gordon,Shane, and John for helping make this happen.

Happy Halloween, Tricksters! Watch out for the fake chocolate....ORBC is still only open on Friday and Saturday for now, but that will change in the future. 3 years ago, I commemorated the bicycle shop's 50th anniversary from 1973 to 2023, and today, I'll do the same for my tenure at this joint. from November 1st, 1976 to my 50th anniversary, tomorrow, November 1st, 2026. I gotta admit that 2026 has been rough on me personally, but I made it to gold. There was no long term plan for this milestone, there really never was a plan at all. Couldn't have done it without a lot of help from a lot of different people, and I thank you all for your bike shop time. Lots of good stories and memories can happen in 50 years. I'll always treasure most of them. Thank you to 50 years of customers that kept the lights on, and the doors open. I've made a lot of friends here over the years. Now on to next week, and next month, and whatever the future brings. Thank you all, Bill.

Long term plans not etched in stone, but progress, step by step. Many thanks to Gordo and Billy for all their help on Saturdays. Couldn't do it without them.

Just a reminder that ORBC is open today and tomorrow, Sept. 5th. I'll admit, the shop is nowhere near being back to normal, and the 2 days a week schedule for now limits what services are available. Bicycle inventory is much lower than usual, and I'll work on that as soon as possible, too. I knew the shop would be closed most of the summer as I dealt with some health issues, so I intentionally sold through a lot of inventory without replacing it. Some of the models we need are not presently available from our suppliers, too. Getting back to speed will take a while. Thank you so much for your patience, and please let us know if we can help. This is a bump in the road, not the end of a 53 year run (so far) for Oak Ridge Bicycle Center. Thanks, Bill

I'll have to work out the hours on Friday and Saturday, but I'll try to get it going. Call ahead to double check the shop hours, please. 2 days a week is all I can do now. Thanks to Billy and Gordon for coming in to help tomorrow! Got a lot of catching up to do when I'm able. Thank you, Bill

My fingernails haven't been this clean since junior high school. This is caused by not working on bikes, cars, or anything mechanical, or in the garage for the last 2 months. Been on the mend for about 6 weeks, but it's going to take a few weeks more before I'm worth anything. I am NOT a very patient patient, but it is what it is. I'll be back at ORBC as soon as I can. Probably going to need a little help then, too. Or a lot. I'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the well wishes. That means a lot to me. Bill

This is me riding one of my bikes after I get all this medical stuff fixed. I'll be wearing my "Eat My Dust" T-shirt every day. Well, that's my plan, anyway. Today, Tuesday April 28th will be the last day the shop is officially open until I get over my rebuild. When possible, I'll be available by calling the shop phone during business hours, 865-482-3333. I'll be back as soon as possible to ORBC. Updates will be posted here, and on the bicycle shop front door. Thanks, Bill

No, I'm not riding off into the sunset with Bugs, but I am going to close after Tuesday. April 28th to deal with some medical stuff. I hate doing that, but it is what it is. I'll be back as soon as possible, but I'm not sure when. Updates will be on this FB page,or posted on the bicycle shop front door. I will be available on the shop phone when possible. That number is 865-482-3333.Thanks for all the support I've received for almost 50 years, and I plan on being back as quick as I can. Bill Open regular hours today, Saturday, and Tuesday.

ORBC will be open again tomorrow. I'm truly sorry that I needed to close for a few days. This will come up again in the next few weeks., and I'll adjust the shop hours and days accordingly then. Sorry for all the inconvenience! Bill

Since I have to take care of some medical stuff now, ORBC will be closed starting Friday, April 10th for, I hope, a very short period of time. I'm sorry this is happening now, my busy season, and I apologize to all ORBC's customers. When I know more, I'll post shop updates on this FB page, and will be available when possible on the shop phone. I might be back next week, but don't know yet. In the meantime, ride your bike and enjoy Spring. See you soon, thanks, Bill

Here's my ORBC Pro Tip for the day. Don't buy your bikes from stores that have no ability to assemble or repair them, regardless of the "bike shop vibe" you think they have. I've seen this level of "work" several times from the same store. And please don't buy their "extended warranty". It will never matter, except for the money you waste. This is what the bike looked like after they supposedly fixed their original mistakes. New bike. Adult and children's bikes. What an insult to real bicycle mechanics, yet it happens over and over. Management doesn't care, apparently. Over and over and over again.
