Last week, the Detroit-area Planet Fitness clubs and the Detroit Red Wings awarded $10,000 the 2025 Shut Out Bullying Contest winners- Endeavor Charter Academy. Presenting the check were representatives from Planet Fitness and DRW Alumni Dan Cleary. Endeavor will use the funds to establish anti-bullying programs designed to be innovative, inclusive, and meet the needs of a diverse student population. Congratulations to Endeavor, we cannot wait to hear about your progress!

Drum roll please…. We are opening Wednesday, September 9th!! After careful consideration and guidance from local officials that gyms are able to reopen, we're excited to let you know that we’re reopening. As always, the safety of our team and members is our top priority, and we’ve been working hard to get ready to welcome you back and provide you with the clean, sanitary, and judgement free workout experience you love. We can’t wait to see you!

In accordance with local requirements, masks are required for members and guests at all times, and the club has temporary capacity restrictions. Download the free Planet Fitness app in advance so you can have a touchless check-in and answer necessary wellness questions via the app.

As a reminder, your membership was frozen when your club closed in March and you were not charged any fees while the club was closed. We will make an adjustment on your next billing cycle (on or around September 17) upon the club reopening on September 9 for any unused days for which you have previously paid. Normal billing will resume the following month. If your annual fee should have been billed since we closed in March through the date of this email, you will be billed for your annual fee on the 1st of the month after your first billing date.

As a result of the appeals court ruling, the club will remain temporarily closed and all memberships will remain frozen. We will reopen as soon as permitted.

Under Executive Order 2020-9 issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, effective Monday March 16 at 3 p.m Planet Fitness locations in Michigan will be temporarily closed. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will reopen as soon as permitted.

And don’t forget, starting today, Monday March 16th, tune-in to Facebook Live for FREE at-home workouts for anyone and everyone. Get moving with our trainers and even some surprise celebrity guests for a 20 minute or less workout because we know to stay healthy, we need to stay active. No equipment needed!
