Authentic Method Pilates offers great instruction in a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere. Every detail has been considered in the planning of the space to be comfortable and functional for our clients. Founded by Vivian Piccone Jung, the studio is equipped with reformers, tower, trapeze table, ladder barrel, Pilates chair and arc from manufacturers Basil Pilates, Balanced Body , Gratz, and Debo

rah Lessen. To complete the training experience we have installed imported Italian sport flooring (a unique padded flooring that is constructed to support the body while also cushioning) and a custom ballet barre with floor to ceiling mirrors. Authentic Method Pilates studio is an ideal place for individuals who wish to move their bodies and minds into wellness and health. At our studio, Classic Pilates Method is expertly used to bring our clients into balance and strength. Our clients appreciate our ability to understand the depth of Joseph Pilates’ work and to continue his spirit of innovation. By thoroughly grasping the history and roots of Joe Pilates’ method, Contrology, we are able to build and expand on his principles and foundations to create specific, personalized programs. We welcome individuals of all levels of fitness. We train athletes and dancers to perform better in their professions, we assist those with injuries to recover and reduce pain, and we work with “regular” people who simply want to build strength and increase fitness. WHAT TO EXPECT
This workshop will explore the constructive processes of the Intermediate Reformer and Mat sequence, following the protocols of Authentic Pilates Inelia Garcia professional training program. It will empower you to use the System across the different apparatus, discovering the various options and exercises to build the sequence.

• Instructors will gain a practical understanding that enables them to create dynamic, varied classes and guide their students through a safe and progressive practice within the Authentic Pilates Method.
• Students will have dedicated time on the apparatus to build real strength and control in their own bodies, while also sharpening their teaching skills.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
Certified teachers who are looking to deepen their knowledge and practice.

ABOUT KIKO
Federico (Kiko) Figueiredo is the Assistant and Technical Director of The Pilates Studio Portugal, contributing directly to the education of new professionals within the high standards defined by Inelia Garcia – teacher of teachers. He is the lead organizer of the training programs in Lisbon. He works directly with the trainees and coaches them throughout the certification program from the pre-testing through the final exams.

He holds a Degree in Physical Education from the “Faculdade de Motricidade Humana” of the University of Lisbon (FMH) and obtained his Pilates certification from The Pilates Studio Brasil – Inelia Garcia in 2009

He is a detailed teacher who has an exceptional eye for the body. He cares deeply about all of the teachers in the Authentic Pilates family, going above and beyond to help each person reach their potential.

Frederico (Kiko) Figueiredo will be presenting a workshop for Pilates teachers at our Midtown studio in August.

He will teach construction of the intermediate exercises of the mat and reformer using the Authentic System of Contrology as taught by Teacher-of-Teachers, Inelia Garcia.

This 2-day workshop is for teachers who are interested in learning (or reviewing) how to use the deep Pilates system to build the body, mind and spirit in a safe and effective way. This process is the road to transformation in the Pilates Method. It is the secret weapon that exists in the method that Joseph Pilates created. It is beyond exercises, beyond choreography and beyond sequences.

This is the real way to combat pain, bad posture, poor circulation and overall ill health and promote mental and physical well being.

If you are a pilates teacher looking to deepen your own practice and improve your teaching, understand the Authentic System, gain more confidence and serve your clients better, this workshop is for you.

Kiko is the owner of several studios in Portugal and the lead European teacher-trainer in the Authentic System Inelia Garcia. He works directly with Inelia to train the teachers in the Lisbon program as well as assisting her throughout the world with workshops and training programs.
