🏁🎸 Thunderstruck 93 is officially in the books…
For the first time in nearly 25 years, Joe “Bundy” Prusak climbed back behind the wheel of a Late Model at Elko Speedway — and this one-off start is something the entire Prusak Racing team will remember for years to come.
We knew from the beginning this was going to be a massive undertaking. The goals were pretty simple: have fun, make the big show, improve throughout the weekend, and bring the car home in one piece.
For the most part, we accomplished exactly what we came to do.
Joe and the No. 66 QA1 / Schatz Real Estate Chevrolet rolled off 29th in a 33-car field for the Thunderstruck 93 feature. After dropping back to 31st at the initial green, Bundy settled in and chose to ride, learn, and conserve his tires through the opening portion of the race.
About 10 laps in, things got interesting when a pretty massive wreck broke out in front of us. Joe managed to avoid the chaos and continued logging laps toward the planned break at lap 39.
At the break, the team went to work making adjustments to the No. 66.
Once we went back green, the car started coming to Joe. He found a good rhythm, began picking off a few cars, and started closing in on the tail end of the lead pack.
Unfortunately, around lap 60, a mechanical issue forced us to retire early.

Would we have liked to see all 93 laps? Absolutely. But considering the challenge we took on, we couldn’t be happier with the experience or what we accomplished.
And somehow, after everything that happened throughout the weekend, the only mark on the car came during warm-up laps when a competitor decided to give us a little door shot. 🤷🏼♂️
More importantly, we had fun. We made the show. We got better every time we hit the track. And after nearly 25 years away from Late Model competition at Elko, Bundy proved he could still get around the place.
The support throughout the entire weekend was incredible. From the fans in the stands to our fellow competitors — we saw it, we heard it, and we appreciated all of it.
A MASSIVE thank you to Bryan Wrolstad. Bryan put countless hours and more than a few sleepless nights into getting this car ready for one race. This entire weekend simply doesn’t happen without him, and the Prusak Racing team will forever be grateful for everything he did to make it possible.
Thank you to Joey, Max, Slim and Mike for all the help at the track, along with the entire Bryan Wrolstad Racing crew — Bryan, Austin and Pete — for jumping in and supporting us throughout the weekend.
