Hello NRYHA Families,

We are reaching out to share some news regarding one of our River Cities players, Korbin Lathe. Korbin graduated from Somerset High School in 2025, and played in our River Cities Coop.

Korbin was in a serious motor vehicle accident last weekend near County Road T and is currently in the ICU at Regions Hospital with critical injuries. Korbin has undergone multiple surgeries, has been sedated since the accident, and is continuing to receive critical care.

Korbin's family is asking for prayers, as he has a long road ahead of him. Hockey families are some of the strongest families out there, and one thing is for certain -- we always show up in moments like this. Please keep Korbin and his family in your thoughts and prayers in the weeks and months to come.

Welcome to the 6th Annual NRYHA 10,000 Puck Challenge - Summer 2026!

This challenge starts Monday, June 1st and ends Monday, August 31st.

All shooters that track 10,000+ shots will win:
-Name on 10,000 puck wall plaque to be displayed at the rink!
-Recognition- Certificate of Achievement & Announcement at an NRHS Varsity Game (Date & Time TBD). Recognition will take place after the 1st period of the game.
-$25 Concessions Card!
-Top 3 shooters will also receive a Mini Knee Hockey stick.

MAKE SURE YOU WORK ON ALL YOUR SHOTS...WRIST, SNAP, SLAP & BACKHAND! Stay tuned for videos to dial in your shooting skills!!

Please note:
• This is 100% optional participation. If your player chooses not to participate, it will not hinder any decisions made on their tryout/play time next season, this is solely for fun!
• If you do not have the tools at home to complete this challenge, we suggest using a buddy system or contacting Tim Tobin (Player Coach Development Committee Chair) at [email protected].

Dear NRYHA Families,

We are currently seeking additional goaltenders for the upcoming boys/girls season, specifically for the 2016 and 2017 birth year levels.

If your player has ever expressed interest in trying goaltending—or if you think they might enjoy the position—we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

To help players explore the position, NRYHA will host a “Try Goalie For Free” day in the near future.
