Meet Coach Sydney!

Coach Sydney is back for her eighth season with Evolve, and her roots with our club run deep! Before becoming a coach, Sydney spent seven years playing for Evolve herself. Now, she’s sharing that same love for the game with the next generation of athletes. Having spent six coaching seasons specializing in the 14s age group, Sydney believes great players are built from the ground up. She’s passionate about teaching strong fundamentals, developing technique, and helping athletes become confident, well-rounded players who can make an impact from any position.

And outside of the gym? Sydney has something extra exciting to look forward to—she’s getting married this February! 💍

We’re so lucky to have Sydney’s experience, dedication, and Evolve pride back in the gym for another season!

Meet Coach Marita! 🏐❤️

“Volleyball has been a part of my life since I was 6, when I was carted around to my older sister’s games and tournaments almost every weekend.” And it’s been part of her story ever since!

Coach Marita grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, playing competitive club volleyball as well as soccer before attending the University of Arizona, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Water Resources. In 2021, she found a new way to love the game when she stepped into coaching and it quickly became a passion of its own. We love having coaches who genuinely enjoy being in the gym, sharing what they know, and helping the next generation of athletes grow their own love for volleyball.

Outside of the gym, Marita works as an executive member at CLSI, a Napa nonprofit focused on sustainable agriculture. She lives here in Napa with her husband, their 2-year-old son, and two cats.

We’re so excited to have Coach Marita as part of the Evolve family and can’t wait for another season with her in the gym! ❤️🏐

At Evolve, we’ve always believed there’s room to do things a little differently…To keep it affordable. To keep teams small enough that athletes are seen, coached, and given opportunities to grow. To create an environment where developing great volleyball players goes hand in hand with building character.

Coach Cindy brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to Evolve, with a background that spans youth, club, and high school volleyball. She has served as the Vanden High School Varsity Coach since 2010, earning multiple Coach of the Year honors and leading Vanden to state appearances, including a Division II State Semifinal run in 2018. Cindy has coached Power teams across nearly every age group—from 12s through 18s—and has been part of Club Solano, Xceleration, and Evolve throughout her club coaching career. She also currently serves on the CIF Advisory Committee. We’re so lucky to have her experience, leadership, and knowledge of the game in the Evolve gym!

We are incredibly grateful to the Horn Heart Foundation and DeLong Foundation for choosing Evolve Volleyball Club as a community program to receive this incredibly generous and meaningful donation.

We feel truly honored and blessed to be considered for this special funding, which will allow us to purchase new volleyballs, carts, training gear, coaches’ apparel, and medical kits for our program. These resources will make such a difference in helping us provide our student-athletes with the very best experience and opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.

We are especially thankful for the partnership between the DeLong Foundation and Horn Heart Foundation and for their shared commitment to investing in youth and our local community. Your generosity and belief in our program means so much to us, and we are excited to put these resources to work for our athletes!
