Horse ownership is hard sometimes.
There are decisions we have to make that break our hearts into pieces, even when we know they are made out of love and compassion. Loving these incredible animals means sometimes having to let them go, and there is no easy way to say goodbye to those who have given us so much.
This year has brought us more losses than any other year, and sadly, we know we still have a couple more difficult goodbyes ahead of us. Each one leaves an emptiness that is hard to explain, because these horses have never been just horses to us. They have been teachers, partners, friends, and invaluable members of our business.
Over the years, they have helped countless individuals learn to ride, build confidence, overcome fears, and discover the special connection between humans and horses. They have given so much of themselves, and their impact will live on in every person whose life they have touched. They may not know just how much they have meant to us, but we will never forget them.
We are incredibly grateful for our supportive veterinarians who walk beside us through these heartbreaking moments. Thank you for your compassion, your guidance, and for helping us make the hardest decisions with our horses’ best interests at heart. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
“The hardest part of loving a horse is knowing that sometimes the kindest thing we can do is let them go. Their time with us may be limited, but the hoofprints they leave on our hearts last a lifetime.”
To every horse we have loved, learned from, and said goodbye to: thank you. Thank you for your patience, your trust, your lessons, and the memories you have left behind. You will always be part of our story, and you will never be forgotten.
