☀️ Sunshine, longer days, and plenty of opportunities to get outside and move! Whether you're walking the trails, hitting the golf course, spending the day on the lake, gardening, or getting in an outdoor workout, warmer weather means our bodies are working harder to stay cool.

One of the most overlooked pieces of summer health and performance?
💧 Hydration.

Even mild dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches, muscle cramps, decreased performance, and reduced focus. By the time you feel thirsty, you're often already behind on your fluid intake!

Make hydration a priority this season:
✅ Start your day with water
✅ Carry a reusable water bottle
✅ Increase fluids during outdoor activities
✅ Replace electrolytes when sweating heavily
✅ Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink

Not a fan of plain water? You're not alone! Infusing your water with fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs can add natural flavor while still helping you stay hydrated. Try combinations like lemon and cucumber, strawberry and mint, orange and blueberry, or watermelon and basil for a refreshing summer twist. 🍓🍋🥒

Enjoy all that summer has to offer, but make sure you're giving your body what it needs to keep up. Stay active, stay safe, and stay hydrated! 💦

A message from Lacy:

One year ago today, I officially became the owner of LAT Wellness Studio.

Looking back, it's hard to put into words just how grateful I am for everything this past year has brought. There have been challenges, lessons, growth, and so many incredible moments—but through it all, one thing has remained constant: the unwavering support of this amazing community.

To every client who has trusted us with your health, fitness, and wellness journey, thank you. Whether you've walked through our doors for a class, a training session, an event, joined us in a virtual class, or simply offered words of encouragement, you've helped make this year better than I could have imagined.

I'm especially thankful for the incredible team at LAT. Their passion, dedication, and genuine care for our clients are what make this place so special. It is an honor to work alongside people who truly believe in helping others live healthier, happier lives.

This past year has reinforced exactly why I became a trainer—to build a welcoming space where people of all ages and fitness levels can feel supported, encouraged, and empowered.

Thank you for believing in me, believing in our team, and allowing us to be part of your wellness journey. We are just getting started.

Here's to many more years of serving the Smith Mountain Lake community and beyond, building connections, celebrating victories, and helping people become the healthiest version of themselves.

We have needed this rain SO badly, and while we’re thankful for it, we know it can definitely put a little damper on being outside and active this Memorial Day weekend. ☔

But don’t let a rainy weekend throw you completely off track! There are still PLENTY of ways to move your body, get a good sweat in, and stay consistent - right from the comfort of home.

Here is an at-home, bodyweight workout that can be done anywhere, requires ZERO equipment, and takes about 30 minutes to complete. 💪🏡
(And if you want to level it up, you can absolutely add weights or resistance bands!)
