longest mileage week of the summer is compete ✔️ volume goes down just a bit this week and then we taper for BMW BERLIN-MARATHON ⭐️

what’s been your longest run this summer?

4(-ish) down, number 5 in a few weeks🏅🇩🇪

**yes, I raced Sydney before it became a major, but idgaf I’m counting it 😂 going back to Australia is on my list of things to do, but there’s a decent chance I’ll be at a point in my life where voluntarily running 26.2 miles no longer sounds appealing lol

and honestly…at the rate they’re adding new marathon majors, I’m slowly losing interest in trying to “complete” them all for the special medal.
part of what made the original goal so fun to me was that there was an actual finish line. Six iconic races. Complete them all, get that pretty medal, done.
but if the list just keeps growing... does it eventually become less special? I don’t know.
maybe that’s an unpopular opinion 😅

either way, I’m very excited to add Berlin Marathon to my list in a few weeks! 🍻

am I the only one who feels like the more majors they add, the less interesting it becomes to be a 7/8/9…♾️-star finisher?!

just a little reminder that no matter how many marathon training cycles I complete, I will apparently continue to be surprised by every single one 😅

the good days make it all feel worth it. the bad days are quickly forgotten. and somehow, I always come back for more 🫠

Berlin, we’re getting so close 👀

As a marathoner and physical therapist, I’m a big believer that consistency comes from taking care of your body—not just pushing through workouts. This training cycle, I’ve been more intentional about my daily routine: mobility work, stretching, hydration, and the daily habits that help me keep moving and working hard towards my goals.

One thing I’ve added into my routine is Nature’s Way Joint Movement Glucosamine® — it’s an ultra strength formula with 2,000 mg glucosamine, 1,200 mg chondroitin, 500 mg MSM, and vitamin D3 per serving to support healthy bones and muscle function.*

I love that it’s a fast-absorbing liquid with a berry flavor that’s easy to add into my day—you can take it on its own or mix it with water or juice!
Taking care of my body between workouts helps me keep showing up for the miles ahead ✨

sunglasses are one of those running essentials I never fully appreciated until I started wearing them consistently 😎☀️

they help keep the sun out of my eyes & protect from UV exposure + no more squinting! Bonus: they’re also great for keeping wind, sweat & the occasional bug out of your eyes 😅

my go-to for sunny runs lately: Tifosi Optics 🕶️

if you’ve been needing a new pair, they’re having a Labor Day sale this week 👉🏼 25% off sitewide with code: LDSALE 🤸🏻‍♀️

The little things matter when you’re training for a marathon 🏃🏻‍♀️

As my mileage builds for Berlin, I’m focused on staying proactive with recovery and injury prevention instead of waiting for small aches to become bigger setbacks. KT Tape Pro Extreme has become one of the tools in my training toolkit to help provide targeted pain relief and support while still allowing my body to move naturally. it’s designed to stay put through tough workouts & sweat and is a great option for runners and anyone looking for extra support 🙌🏼

18 years, so many races, PRs… and even more lessons 🏃🏻‍♀️

If I could go back and give my younger running self a few reminders, they’d be these:

you don’t have to PR to have a great race.
one bad race doesn’t make you a bad runner.
training for a race can be just as rewarding as the race itself.
you’re allowed to change your goals.
rest days aren’t wasted days.
the finish time matters a lot less once the race is over.
and you’ll probably never fully understand why you willingly sign up to do this over and over again 😆

18 years later, I still love the process, the challenge and everything running has given me outside of a finish time.

🥂 here’s to still learning after all these years!
