π¨ Brew Thru Customer Update β We Need Your Help!
North Carolina is considering legislation that would allow licensed retailers like Brew Thru, grocery stores, convenience stores, and wine shops to sell sealed, low-ABV, spirit-based premixed cocktails like High Noon, Nutrl, Cutwater, Stateside, and similar products.
These are not bottles of liquor. They are sealed, ready-to-drink canned beverages with alcohol levels comparable to beer, wine, and hard seltzers already sold responsibly in retail stores every day.
The North Carolina House ABC Committee unanimously approved language allowing these products to be sold in licensed retail locations. Now we need the North Carolina Senate to include this language in HB 198 and help get it across the finish line.
This is about consumer choice, fair competition, supporting small businesses, and updating outdated laws so North Carolina can catch up with the 12 out of 17 control states that already allow this including Virginia.
It will also help restaurants and bars by creating a more convenient distribution system through existing beer and wine wholesalers.
If you would like to see Brew Thru and other licensed North Carolina retailers be able to sell low-ABV premixed cocktails, please contact your North Carolina Senator and ask them to support adding the RTD / premixed cocktail language to HB 198.
