Working out more isn’t always the answer.

If you’re training consistently but not losing weight, look at the bigger picture: nutrition, daily movement, sleep, stress, hydration, and training all play a role.

Before doing more, figure out what actually needs to change.

A food can be marketed as “healthy,” “high protein,” or “natural”… but what does the label actually say?

Learning how to read a nutrition label helps you understand what you’re actually putting into your body.

Start with the basics: look at the serving size, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, added sugars, and most importantly…the ingredient list.

And remember: ingredients are listed in order by weight, from the ingredient used in the greatest amount to the ingredient used in the smallest amount. So those first few ingredients can tell you a lot about what you’re actually eating.

Don’t let the front of the package make the decision for you. Flip it over and learn what you’re actually eating.

You don’t need to live in the gym to see results.

A few intentional, well-structured workouts each week can go a long way when you’re also prioritizing daily movement, protein, sleep, and consistent progress.

Quality over quantity. 💪

Want to stay strong as you age? Start with these 3 things. 💪

💤 Prioritize your sleep.
Sleep is when your body recovers from training. Consistently getting quality sleep supports recovery, performance, and your ability to keep showing up.

🏋️ Strength train consistently.
Muscle and strength become increasingly important as you age. Strength training helps you maintain the ability to move well, stay capable, and continue doing the things you enjoy.

🌯 Prioritize protein and minimally processed foods.
Your body needs the right nutrition to support muscle, recovery, and overall health. Build your meals around quality protein sources and mostly whole, minimally processed foods.

Getting older doesn’t mean you have to accept becoming weaker. What you consistently do now can influence how capable and independent you remain later in life.

Hey, just wanted to re-introduce ourselves for anyone new on our page! 👋

We’re Training Ed, a team of coaches dedicated to helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident in what they’re doing—both inside and outside the gym.

Founded by Dylan and Ester, Training Ed was built around one core belief: good coaching should educate you, not just put you through a workout.

Our team brings years of experience in personal training, strength training, nutrition, movement, and coaching people across a wide range of ages and goals—from athletes and competitive lifters to busy adults who simply want to feel stronger, move better, and stay independent as they age.

We don’t want you to blindly follow a program. We want you to understand how to train, why it works, and how your nutrition, recovery, and daily habits all contribute to your results.

Because eventually, the goal is bigger than a good workout. It’s giving you the knowledge, structure, and confidence to take better care of your health for life.

If you’re new here, welcome to Training Ed. We’re glad you’re here. 💪

Accountability isn’t about constantly reminding your clients what they should be doing.

It starts with setting clear, realistic expectations, understanding why they’re struggling, and knowing when to adjust the plan or hold them to their commitment.

Sometimes the client needs more accountability. Sometimes the coaching needs to improve.

Getting older doesn’t mean your best results are behind you.

Your routine just needs to evolve with your life. Instead of chasing quick fixes or trying to outwork your schedule, build habits that actually fit the season you’re in.

Consistency will take you further than constantly doing more.

Follow Training Ed for practical fitness advice built for real life. 💪

Personal trainers, do you want better client retention?

Clients don’t stay because you constantly give them new exercises. They stay when they feel understood, see their progress, and trust that there’s a plan behind what they’re doing.

Great retention is built on trust, communication, and a consistently great coaching experience.

Trainers, what’s one thing you always do in a client’s first 30 days? 👇
