For the past month and a half I’ve been using the world built by JRR Tolkien to guide the yoga flows in class. At this point, three people now have told me they started reading The Hobbit because of it!

Hey Norton Yogis!
I’ve had a great time at the Kentucky Yoga Festival (more pics to come!), which is truly a space to reconnect with myself as well as with others whom I don’t get to see and practice with regularly. It was a wholesome but also exhausting experience, and I am honoring my body’s need for an extra day of recovery.
Also, I need to do a ton of laundry, clean out the camping gear, clear the cooler, etc.
See you Tuesday.
And don’t forget we have a slightly changed schedule for Wednesday’s classes: we have the 10am and 11am as per the regular schedule, but the 12pm chair yoga will be canceled so I can attend the 5th grade promotion for my daughter.

A little update on yoga classes at Norton Sports Health in May!
The gym is open regular hours on May 1, and our regular classes will be in session.
May 15 I will be teaching at the KY Yoga Festival so there will be NO classes that Friday.
On Wednesday, May 20th my oldest will be having her 5th grade graduation in the morning, so I will be attending that. The 11am and noon classes will run as normal, so adjust your schedule accordingly.
On Monday May 25, the gym will be open for limited hours and NO classes will run that day. Although if you want to join in the Murph, you are welcome to do so.

Some people: I just prefer to workout by myself.

Me: Oh my gosh I love working out with other people! You look around and everyone is just trying their best at whatever level they are at and if the person beside me is doing their best then that inspires me to do my best and then we’re all doing our best together! And isn’t that just wonderful??!

…aaaaand maybe that’s why I’m a yoga teacher 🤩

I taught some yoga to Bellarmine University’s baseball team this morning. Apparently they had a long week of games last week, so the regular trainer asked me to do some yoga to give them a break. When he said “This is Becca and she will be doing some yoga with you this morning” I swear this is how the team responded! (Only, you know, in a gym and not by a pool.)
Intense cheers and claps and whoops for yoga is the best possible way to begin a yoga class and I’m gonna need everyone else to step it up, ok? 😉
