🥋 **Character Is Built Through Challenge**

A recent article about America’s workforce makes an important point: many employers aren’t merely searching for technical skills. They need people who arrive on time, accept correction, take initiative, solve problems and persevere when things become difficult.

These qualities don’t suddenly appear when someone enters the workforce. They must be taught, practiced and strengthened while growing up.

That is one of the foundational purposes here at Summit Taekwondo Center.

Our students certainly learn kicks, forms and self-defense—but those are the tools through which we teach something even more important:

Real confidence isn’t built by avoiding difficulty or receiving praise without effort. It grows when a student struggles, listens to correction, keeps working and finally accomplishes something that once seemed impossible.

Every class is an opportunity to prepare students not only for their next belt, but also for school, work, relationships and life.

We aren’t simply training martial artists. We’re helping develop respectful, responsible and resilient future leaders.

We have one of our black belts gone who is about to finish his Air Assault course in the military.
We have another one that will be gone for a month to the Philippines doing missions work AND teaching taekwondo to the children there.

That tells us two things…we’re a little low on black belts/instructors at the moment, and that we have some REALLY great black belts/instructors.

It goes back to our motto that we teach self defense, but we raise leaders.

We are super proud of all of our students. But when you put the time, dedication and effort into doing what it takes to get that first degree black belt, you’re putting together what it takes to be successful in the dojang, but also in life itself. 🥋💪💯❤️

Good luck and Godspeed to them, and we will see everyone else in class next week!

Summit students - reminder! Tonight is our last Summer Monday scheduled class.

Class tonight is 6:30 for white-blue and 7:30 for red and black.

Next Monday is Labor Day - no class

The following Monday the new class schedule will be
5:30 for white-green
6:30 blue-black.

Currently no 7:30 class on Mondays but that is subject to change as black belt schedules allow.
