The Lawrence Trail Hawks, founded in April 2009 by Lawrence area trail and ultra runners, will run on, promote and care for the Lawrence trails, including the Kansas River Trails and the Clinton Lake North Shore Trails.

Hilly Gravel Run at Signal Oak on 6/7/26

Gal Gallop: The Lawrence River Trails are open and ready to run! As usual we will meet at the upper parking lot at 6:30pm. There is a chance of storms, so I will be checking the weather at 5:00pm. Bring a chair and a drink to hang afterwards.

Gal Gallop: Eyes on the sky today. The plan will be to meet up at the upper parking lot of the River Trails at 6:30pm. I'll check the weather and trail conditions at 5pm and update the plan then.

Gal Gallop: well it looks like tonight we will be running on the Levee and we will probably get a little moist! 🤣 Let's me at the upper parking lot of the River Trails at 6:30pm!

Please join us tonight (5/18/26) for the Monday Night Beginners Run (MNBR) on the River Trails in North Lawrence. We congregate in the upper parking lot off 8th and Oak in North Lawrence (https://maps.app.goo.gl/sv8xeMQwoZxJrD3p9) at 6:30 PM. 4-5 miles at a conversational pace with different speed groups and plenty of turnarounds for shorter distances. Because of the rain overnight on Sunday, we will probably have to run the levee tonight. Freeze pops to share afterwards.

My weather app suggests no severe weather until after 8, HOWEVER, I urge everyone to use common sense and assess the situation themselves as we get closer to the 6:30-7:30 window. I'll update this post around 5:30 if I feel we should cancel.

What a beautiful day for a trail run! Come out to the Kansas River Trails in North Lawrence off 8th and Oak at 6:30 PM today (May 4, 2026) and join the Monday Night Beginners Run (MNBR). We congregate in the upper parking lot. 4-5 miles at a conversational pace with different speed group and plenty of cutoffs for shorter distances. I'll bring freeze pops to share after the run. Hope to see you there.

Please consider joining us for the Monday Night Beginners Run (MNBR) today (April 27, 2026). We meet in the upper parking lot of the River Trails trailhead off 8th and Oak in North Lawrence at 6:30 PM. 4-5 miles at a conversational pace. Unfortunately, due to the rain on Sunday, we will not be able to enjoy the trails. We will either use the levee or the Matt O'Reilly Memorial North Lawrence Alternate Route (MORMNLAR). No one left behind. Freeze pops to share after.
