The primary service population are members of the Barona Band of Mission Indians Tribe. Barona Recreation Department services include maintenance and upkeep of softball, tennis, and basketball facilities. The pool is open during Summer months. An After School Program and Holiday break camps are provided 51 weeks per year. Department staff lead Early-Movement Education for the Barona Preschool four
days per week. Barona Teen Program provide service and educational opportunities, fun activities and field trips for local youth. Teens and pre-teens participate in the Summer Prevention Program, a mix of fun and educational get togethers, designed to foster personal dvelopment and growth throughout the long summer months. The department provides coaching, administration, and transportation for Barona's participation in Inter Tribal Sports; a year-round youth sports organization that serves the needs of 19 tribal communities. The department also hosts several community events throughout the year, including Trunk or Treat, Haunted House, Dinner with Santa, Sweetheart Dance, Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and end of the Summer Pool Party.
