🏇 Warm-Up Arena Etiquette – Safety Comes First 🏇

As we get ready to compete, let's work together to keep our warm-up arena safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Please remember:

• Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Look before changing direction, stopping, or crossing the arena.
• Call out "Inside," "Outside," "Heads up," when appropriate to help communicate with other riders.
• Pass left shoulder to left shoulder whenever possible.
• Keep a safe distance between horses. Not every horse is comfortable being approached closely.
• Faster horses should only pass when there is enough room to do so safely.
• Avoid stopping in busy traffic areas. If you need to adjust tack or visit with someone, move to the center or outside of the riding pattern.
• Ride in the designated direction if one has been established.
• Be courteous to riders on young or inexperienced horses by giving them extra space.
• Keep warm-up time focused on preparing your horse. Save conversations for outside the arena.

Every rider shares the responsibility of creating a safe warm-up environment. Good communication, patience, and respect for one another help ensure everyone has the opportunity to prepare for a successful run.
