A day in the life as owner/teacher of a Pilates studio. With a look behind the scenes when you do your service and maintenance on all apparatuses in your studio. It’s a long grueling day, but it so worth it. These reformers are like cars and if you don’t take care of them, it shows. You can FEEL the difference! I’m proud to be a studio, offering one on one, duet, and small group classes where the equipment you work out on matters! Thanks Gratz for the new grease! Loving it already. (After serving each reformer I had to do a mini workout on each one and man! They feel phenomenal!

It’s official! We have been recognized by as an approved Gratz studio location, adding us to their studio directory. So that no matter where you go, you can search for a studio that supports tradition, the method, and the man Joseph Pilates and the work he left to us. I’m so proud of the hard work that has gone into our studio, piece by piece, thru sweat and tears to be the place where clients can come and do the good work of healing, getting stronger, and improving their lives thru a movement practice that makes everything you do better. Working with clients who find themselves on the hyper-mobility scale, Pilates is extraordinarily helpful! Whether it’s EDS, MAS, or simply a little extra flexibility, Pilates (and a highly trained and knowledgeable teacher) can provide the feedback and support this special population needs to learn an appropriate range of motion, build strength not just in concentric contraction but also and more importantly in eccentric contraction. Learning to place the work where it should go vs where these bodies often put it. Example: when the hyper-mobile body can do an advanced spinal flexion exercise and their abdominals aren’t even “on” is a sign the work is not connected to the body or other muscles are taking over through misdirection. This is where the Cadillac, spine corrector, or small arm chair can be incredibly helpful due to the immediate feedback for the client.

When the gang comes in to train hard but we also have fun! 🤩 The Contrology group class is a special class only offered here at GRP studio. What makes this class special is that it’s a guided independent workout. Each client follows a thoughtfully designed apparatus based program, working at your own pace, while receiving individualized feedback, corrections, and support, with a community that cheers you on. Questions are encouraged and technique is refined. So whether you’re a student athlete, a parent, work full time, have hobbies that you want to get better at, this is the class for you. It will help you to be better by empowering your body to do all the things you want to do with less strain or pain.

Gratitude is not just for today, I wake up with it every day. Grateful for all the positive things and the tough times because they all make me who I am and have led me to this very moment and where I am in my life and who I share it with. Thankful for my family, my friends, and for all of my clients who trust me with their bodies, their practice, their whole health and well-being. I was designed to serve. And I’m so grateful I get to do that every day. So in this wonderful Thanksgiving, thank you 🙏🏼 for your love a d trust in me.
