Happy June, Armor Nation! Meet our June member of the month: Taylor! 🛡️
What originally got you into fitness?
I worked out in high school then met my husband in college, he was a lineman so we started going to the gym together.
What made you choose Armor Gym?
I came after Chris Lewis (current Armor Gym member) recommended it right after Armor opened. We were coming as members of another gym across town and the day we tried Armor we decided to become members. The atmosphere is unmatched here. It was something we knew we had to be a part of. The equipment is a huge selling point, they just have anything and everything you could ever need and is always organized and clean. Also as a mom to a two year old, the weekly childcare is essential and I never worry when I’m working out if he’s having fun or safe.
What motivates you on days you don’t feel like training?
1. Those break through moments in your training or goals you eventually hit are made in those every day sessions, even the ones that don’t go right or you feel super weak. Motivation fluctuates, but showing up every day for yourself no matter the level of motivation that specific day is what will get you those big wins.
2. My husband. He has lost nearly 100 lbs by sheer will and is incredibly supportive on those days I need extra motivation. We set goals separately and together that we can push each other to achieve.
What’s your favorite part about the Armor Gym community?
The staff is so supportive and kind. I’ve also made friends with so many similar minded people, people who know how to push themselves in and out of the gym. You literally cannot help but be inspired by those around you here, they are some of the hardest working people in Knoxville.
