🏅 Celebrating Our YMCA Members! 🏊‍♂️

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Gary Chesney and John Dudeff, two dedicated members of the Davis Family YMCA, who competed in Men’s Swimming at the Tennessee Senior Olympics this past summer — and brought home multiple medals! 🥇🥈🥉

Their accomplishments are a wonderful example of what can happen when dedication, healthy living, and a commitment to physical fitness become part of your lifestyle. The countless hours they’ve spent training — including time in the lap pool at the Davis Family Y — helped propel them to the medal podium.

But their success is about more than medals. Gary and John inspire us with their continued commitment to staying active, challenging themselves, and pursuing their best at every age. Gary has mentioned that he thanks God for being able to even compete again after knee replacement surgery!

Congratulations, Gary and John! We are so proud of your accomplishments and even prouder to call you East Tennessee YMCA Members! ❤️💙

✨ What a night of Impact! ✨

On Thursday evening, the YMCA of East Tennessee came together for our 2nd Annual Evening of Impact Gala — a special evening dedicated to celebrating the incredible impact of the East Tennessee Y and the communities we serve. 💙

With a dazzling 1920s-inspired theme, the evening was filled with laughter, connection, celebration, and a powerful reminder of what happens when we come together for our community. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear that this was more than a gala — it was a celebration of people coming together to make a difference.

And the impact will continue long after the evening ends. Proceeds from the gala support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, helping ensure that children, families, and individuals throughout East Tennessee have access to programs, resources, and opportunities that strengthen spirit, mind, and body.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this unforgettable evening possible — to our guests who showed up and celebrated with us, our incredible volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and everyone who donated auction items, shared their talents, gave their time, or contributed in any way to make this event a success. ❤️

Your generosity, energy, and belief in the Y are what make our work possible.

🎒💙 Supplies for Success: Making a Difference Together! 💙🎒

The Davis Family YMCA recently wrapped up our Supplies for Success fundraising drive, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to make a BIG impact!

Over three weeks, we collected enough school supplies to fill 48 backpacks for children in need across Knox County. With the help of our amazing Davis Family Y volunteers, the backpacks were packed with school supplies and encouraging notes at the Davis Family Y, then given out to children through the Knox County Clothing and Resource Center. ✏️📚💙

This would not have been possible without the generous support of JCPenney Turkey Creek and our wonderful Davis Family YMCA members. A special thank-you to Michelle, GM of JCPenney Turkey Creek, for advocating for the Y’s Backpack Drive and for her generous donation of $250 in JCPenney gift cards to help purchase backpacks!

Together, we’re helping local children start the school year feeling prepared, encouraged, and ready to succeed. That’s the power of community. That’s the Y. 💙
