KJNO listeners: If you’ve noticed some interruptions or irregularities in our programming today (Sunday, May 31st) the issue is not on the KJNO side.

Our programming provider is currently experiencing technical difficulties with the satellite feed that delivers content to stations across the network. Their engineers are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while the source feed is restored. We’ll continue to keep you updated and look forward to getting everything back to normal soon.

The Juneau Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alaska is happening right now, bringing together athletes, law enforcement officers and community members in support of an incredible cause.

This annual 5K helps raise money for local Special Olympics athletes and sports programs, with every dollar raised staying right here in the Juneau community. It’s more than a run, it’s a powerful show of support, inclusion and community spirit.

If you’d like to support the athletes and the mission of Special Olympics Alaska, donations can still be made online:

To the moms who show up every day, even when they are tired. To the grandmothers, stepmoms, foster moms, aunties, sisters and friends who help raise, guide and protect.
To the women who love with patience, carry more than most people see, and somehow still find a way to give.

Thank you.

Mother’s Day is not just about perfect cards or perfect families. It is about recognizing the people who helped shape us, comfort us, challenge us and believe in us.

Today, we celebrate them with gratitude, honesty and love. Happy Mother’s Day.

If you hear KINY on KJNO or The Hawk today, don’t adjust your radio. That’s us.

We’re moving transmitter operations into our new broadcast home at the Mendenhall Mall and testing new equipment. For a few hours, programming on KJNO and The Hawk may be interrupted while we get everything dialed in.

It’s not radio confusion. It’s radio construction.

Thanks for hanging with us while we move the whole operation into the next generation.

Snow showers will continue through this morning (Sunday) with periods of moderate to heavy snow expected, the winter weather advisories have been extended through late Sunday morning for the northern panhandle.

Snow will gradually end across the northern panhandle through Sunday afternoon with longer duration advisories continuing for portions of the far southern panhandle.

Snowfall accumulations will be variable across the area due to the hit or miss nature of these showers. Rates as high as 1 inch per hour and visibilities down to 1 mile or less will be possible within any heavier showers that repeatedly move over the same location.

These showers can also bring infrequent periods of increased wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
