A weekend of racing. Some stories are amazing, some are inspirational, some are just keeping on, and some are about learning.

Kristen went into her marathon thinking that she wouldn't do well. An epic and fast finish time were not surprising to me as she continues to do the work and plug ahead. Congratulations on a very fast marathon!

Matt finished his first 70.3 in under 7 hours! He went into it with the goal of just making all of the cut off times to finish. I had many conversations with him before the race letting him know that worrying about cut offs was my job. I knew he would make them all and do well. He did the work and followed the plan. It paid off. Congratulations Matt on slaying your first 70.3!

Ryan is a seasoned athlete. He has worked enormously hard this year. He is strong and prepared and thought he felt good going into the day. How tough must you be to finish a race even though you feel terrible the whole day! A visit to the doctor post race discovered he completed it with double pneumonia! So his comment of not ever wanting to race if he felt that way every race is not going to be the case. He will recover and his next race will be amazing and show the work ethic he has. Congratulations Ryan on finishing a tough race while struggling through fatigue and infection!

I was able to finish Race the Wolf Five Miler on Saturday. It is more of a hike up single track and running on service roads in between the single track. While my time wasn't anything to shout out, I was one of two women over 60 to even participate. I stopped to take many a photo of Schweitzer and the surrounding area. I was happy to finish and feel strong. My 70.3 team fell apart two days before the race so doing the Wolf race helped sooth the sting.

Finally, Jeff. Jeff is an amazing athlete. He has worked so hard on his swim this past year. He went from being a marginal swimmer to being fast and strong. Sadly, his race day was thrown to pieces by safety personnel on the swim course not understanding that it is okay to grab a kayak and catch your breath and continue on. Apparently the kayaker and the jet ski operator didn't get the memo. But, to his credit, after being pulled from the water with ZERO good reason, he talked to race officials and was allowed to bike and run. While both of us feel such disappointment, I know that his next race will be a fast swim to match his bike and run. Congratulations Jeff on being tough and resilient.

Josh and Ryan have been working hard this year to improve and it shows! This is Ryan's second 70.3 this season and he continues to race well. He still has an IRONMAN and another 70.3 race to finish out the season. Josh will continue to train for shorter distance triathlons, but will be adding lots of running miles for an upcoming marathon! Great work fellas!

Great and challenging opportunity!

My team, Agony of DaFeet, Coeur d’Alene Multisport Runners, is running in the Northwest Passage Ragnar next weekend. We just had a last minute cancellation and really need a runner to join us.

This is an amazing event close to home. It runs from Blaine, Washington to Widbey Island. Each runner participates in three legs of running. The van members ar top notch! They are fun and happy people who would love to have you along.

We are renting a vans in Spokane so travel to and from, and the entry fee is free. The only charge is a room in Blaine pre run and a room in Mulketeo after we finish and food.

Please IM me, Nancy Lowery, if you are interested. The three legs are: Leg 7- 7.4 miles Leg 19- 5.6 miles Leg 31- 6.3 miles

Great race weekend for these CDA Multisport athletes! Kimberlee took 2nd place in her age group at the Race the Wolf Five Miler. Sean rocked the swim and completed his first IM 70.3. Ryan crushed his last year's finish time by 2 hours and 40 minutes by finishing just over 6 hours. Kady completed her first 70.3 and said afterwards, "I cannot thank you enough! My body feels great right now considering what it just went through. I felt so prepared and calm all race knowing I got to rely on all my training." Natalie ran the Race the Wolf Half Marathon and finished in 2 hours and 43 minutes.

I love coaching and seeing all of the amazing accomplishments of these athletes!

"I want to get faster" was the goal for this runner! Kristen picked it up this weekend in a 10k. Post race she once again placed her medal on her pup. He has a full stack of them over the years. Kristen says "Honestly, Koi is the real winner for watching me run out the door most mornings without him and patiently awaiting his turn to walk!"

Both Kristen and Koi are winners and champs!
