There is something special about summer at Saddle Up! ☀️🐴

As part of our Fun on the Farm program, riders experience the joy, confidence, and connection that comes from time spent with horses. Whether they are learning riding skills, making new friends, exploring the farm, or simply enjoying the outdoors, every moment is an opportunity to grow.

For many of our participants, time in the saddle builds more than riding ability. It strengthens balance, communication, independence, and self-confidence while creating memories that last long after summer ends.

Here’s to a summer filled with smiles, horse hugs, and Fun on the Farm! 💙

As Saddle Up! celebrates 35 years of impact, we pause to honor the people, stories, and friendships that helped build the legacy we know today. Among those individuals are two lifelong friends whose impact on Saddle Up! can still be seen across the farm every day: Debbie Craig and Cheryl Magli.

For Cheryl Magli, that impact began with a simple but important need: making sure Saddle Up! had enough support to pay the bills and continue serving riders. Cheryl started what became a long-running rummage sale benefiting Saddle Up! What began as a necessity grew into a beloved tradition that supported riders, cared for the herd, and strengthened the organization for years. It was only one example of Cheryl’s dedication, but it reflects the heart she has always brought to Saddle Up!

Debbie Craig’s contribution helped shape the future of the organization in an even larger way. Debbie donated the very farm that Saddle Up! calls home today. She had the foresight to preserve this land as a place where children and young adults could experience meaningful connections with horses and discover what they are capable of becoming. Without securing this farm and staking our claim to this special place, the legacy, growth, and continued reach of Saddle Up! could have looked very different.

To Debbie and Cheryl, and to the many volunteers, supporters, and friends who have walked beside us along the way: Thank you. The future we are building exists because of the legacy you helped create.

Still thinking about the 38th Annual Music Country Grand Prix presented by Tractor Supply Company! We are thankful for the hundreds of attendees, sponsors, volunteers, competitors, and supporters who came together to make the day such a tremendous success. The Music Country Grand Prix is one of Middle Tennessee's most beloved traditions, and it would not be possible without the dedication and generosity of so many people.

Events like the Music Country Grand Prix play a critical role in helping Saddle Up! keep Adaptive Riding lesson costs affordable for families while providing exceptional programs, licensed therapists, certified instructors, and the incredible horses that make our mission possible. Without the support of donors and event participants, many of these opportunities simply would not exist.

☀🏹🐎Instructor Emily T. leads a mock Mounted Archery class in preparation for Fun on the Farm. Saddle Up! programs continuously integrate new activities for our riders to learn and experience the expansive world of equine focused skills. A certified Mounted Archery teacher, Emily will be leading our summer participants in properly using a bow and arrow (with a safety tip of course!) while atop practice barrels.

Mounted Archery helps build core physical, mental, and emotional skills in an equine therapy setting. The practice promotes deep emotional regulation, stress reduction, and body awareness, teaching participants to stay calm and present from the back of a moving horse or practice barrel.

We look forward to Fun on the Farm enjoying this addition to our upcoming sessions!

Saddle Up! riders Emmy and Charlie proudly carried the Tennessee State Flag and American Flag for the 2026 Music Country Grand Prix presented Tractor Supply Co.

These riders have grown as riders and gained riding skills, confidence and so much more as part of the Saddle Up! Adaptive Riding Program.

From their parents:

"These past few months at Saddle Up have proven that with the right community, there are no limits. These are her people. Emmy has faced every challenge head on and has made all her family, coaches and volunteers very proud! She is a rider, a dreamer, and a believer in showing up as your full self."

"Fortunately, at the age of 4 Charlie was accepted into the program, and we immediately saw the impact. The difference has been extraordinary—a sport designed with kids like him in mind, building his confidence and courage, strengthening his body and coordination, and surrounding him with kind volunteers who take the time to connect with him. We’ve seen him form an incredible bond with an animal three times his size, celebrate milestones like trotting and riding in two-point, and develop a deep sense of pride in what he can accomplish. Most importantly, he has found a place where he can truly participate and thrive. We are so grateful for the experience that Saddle Up! has given to Charlie and our family. Saddle Up! has been an integral part of Charlie’s journey, expanding what we once believed was possible for him. For that, we are forever grateful."

Thank you, Charlie and Emmy, for being a part of Saddle Up! and celebrating with us at the Music Country Grand Prix!
