FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
After years of battling on dirt across the region, Dobnak Racing has announced that the team will be stepping away from traditional car racing for the foreseeable future and shifting its focus to boat racing operations effective immediately. 🌊🏁
Team officials cited one major reason behind the shocking move:
“There’s simply more opportunities to race on water than there are on dry tracks lately.”
Following what feels like the 47th rainout of the season, the team reportedly began exploring “alternative surfaces less affected by weather,” eventually landing on the idea of converting the operation into a full-time marine racing program.
The newly rebranded “Dobnak Offshore Racing” operation is expected to feature:
Twin late-model-inspired racing boats
Full wrap sponsor packages
Aggressive rooster tails
Questionable Coast Guard compliance
And enough horsepower to make lakefront property owners nervous
The famous “Midway Missile” nickname will reportedly remain intact, although team insiders confirmed it may now refer to “the amount of water spray launched at nearby spectators.”
Driver Daryl Charlier was unavailable for comment but was reportedly last seen pricing pontoon trailers and asking if a bilge pump counts as a setup adjustment.
Tony Musolino simply stated: “If it rains every weekend anyway, we might as well start where the water already is.”
Despite the transition, Dobnak Racing confirmed the team remains committed to its sponsors, fans, and finding creative new ways to spend money at an alarming rate. 🚤🔥
