Sun Valley Nordic is no longer grooming trails at Oil Creek State Park but the ski trails are open to the public. XC skiing is free and at your own risk.

Enjoy winter and find some place to ski. We will miss seeing all our Nordic friends.

Dear Ski Friends, For 11 yrs Sun Valley Nordic has put our heart and soul into trying to provide the best possible XC Ski experience on the beautiful trails at Oil Creek State Park. We have greatly enjoyed meeting everyone and the friendships we have formed over the years. We would look forward to seeing you each winter! We have appreciated the loyalty and support we have received from the XC ski community and we thank you.

So it is after much deliberation and regret that we have decided not to continue to pursue a new XC ski agreement with DCNR and Oil Creek State Park. We are unwilling to accept the complexity and terms of this new 33 page agreement and there are also many personal reasons that led to this decision. We are sorry to say that we will no longer be operating the ski trails at Oil Creek State Park.

XC skiing will still be available at the park and no trail fee will be charged, however, XC skiing will be on your own terms and risk. The trails will no longer be professionally machined groomed and you will not be receiving weather and ski reports.

We will miss you all and will cherish the memories. We hope you will continue to enjoy XC skiing and we wish you health, happiness, and a very white winter.

Dear XC Ski Friends, Sun Valley Nordic is done for the season but we wanted to thank you for your support this winter. We had a good run for a few weeks and were glad to see everyone. Last night we received 4-5" of snow. Not enough to groom on wet ground and we suspect there will be a bunch of branches and possibly trees blown down. You are on your own to enjoy spring skiing if you can. See you next winter!
