The Charlottesville Derby Dames are Charlottesville’s first and only skater-run, flat track roller derby league. The Dames’ mission is to promote sportsmanship and community by providing an alternative form of fitness and entertainment to the women and men of Charlottesville and surrounding counties.

We had a great time slinging draft beer and cider at Ting Pavilion last Friday night during the and Baaba Seth Fridays After Five show! Even cooler: we ended up joining the parade for Friends of Cville - Downtown’s 50th anniversary celebration, complete with lanterns and creatures managed by past and present CRD league members! 🍺🐉

We’ll be chatting again over drafts tomorrow at Random Row Brewing Company for our Pour It Forward + Watch Party fundraiser starting at 6pm! See you there! 🩵

Charlottesville Roller Derby is proud to reiterate its stance on transgender and non-binary athletes in response to the latest Supreme Court rulings. Simply put, any skater, official, volunteer, or fan of any gender identity has our full support.

We would also like to explicitly point out that the latest SCOTUS ruling is in response to trans girls being barred from playing on gendered school sports teams, and different interpretations of Title IX protections could be used to further disenfranchise trans male, non-binary, intersex, and/or gender non-conforming athletes in the future.

Our league’s mission includes the goal of cultivating a supportive, open, and accepting community on and off the track. We are currently, and will continue to be, an open-gender league – if someone wants to be part of CRD, our only requirement is that they share our values: train hard, play smart, and have fun.

Pints — and points — for a cause 🩵

Join us on Thursday, July 9 from 6-9pm at Random Row Brewing Company for a joint Pour It Forward fundraiser and derby watch party! We’ll be streaming one of our favorite hard-hitting bouts from this year’s WFTDA playoffs while earning $2 from every regularly-priced pint you purchase while mentioning CRD at the register.

Don’t know anything about derby? Cool, we’ll teach you jam by jam the ins and outs of our crazy sport. Not into spectating but want to support? Swing by for a beer and hit up our merch stand for a sticker or two. Got a kid who is really into face paint? What a surprise — let us transform them into a track star at our free face-painting station! (Artists guaranteed to be sober 👩🏻‍🎨)
