Each month we progress and adapt our clients workouts.

Junes theme?

Core.
Power.
Strength.

In that order!

This does a few important things:

1) priority is core.
2) trains fast twitch muscle fibers

While we always train core and power, placing them at the front of the workout allows us to get a little more out of them than usual.

9 LEVELS OF HAMSTRING ABILITY:

Which one are you?

For many athletes, the hamstrings are- simply put - a weak spot.

Can’t see em
Can’t train them

They burn bad
So athletes give up fast

But the fastest athletes on the planet?

They have STRONG hamstrings - both at length and shortened.

Let’s break down long range hamstring strength:

1️⃣ We start supine with bridge variations and walkouts

2️⃣ we move to sliding versions of the walkouts - partially and fully

3️⃣ we throw in elevation and instability (TRX and Swiss ball)

4️⃣ we challenge with banded AND slide resistance

5️⃣ finish with single leg strength at length 🔥

(The final boss is technically Nordic hamstring curls but that’s for another day)

WHY EVERYONE (including GRANDMAS) SHOULD DEADLIFT:

there was this movie biodome inspired by this biosphere theory

The concept was to build a dome around an ecosystem to protect it from nature’s wrath

Whoops

The no wind led to weak trees. The no stress led to brittle

Too much protection led to failure the moment real force showed up

The movie was called called Biodôme and Paulie Shore starred in it

Your spine is a lot like the trees in that ecosystem

Training it creates resilience
Progressive stress
Smart positions
Intentionally smart with Recovery…

That’s how backs get stronger

The goal isn’t to live in a bubble. It’s to build a body that can handle real life.

I have a small girls training group (Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10a) in Eureka, with a few spots open.

7th and 8th graders only (rising) in a small group setting so every kid actually gets coached, not just managed.
