Some food for thought on this beautiful Monday! ☀️
With the open, quarterfinals and now semifinals complete, we can now reflect on what we did well but more importantly where our weaknesses lie. It is easy to practice movements we deem “easy” or in our wheelhouse, as those feel natural and give a confidence boost. But if you want to improve your overall fitness and see a more rounded performance and effort than we need to focus on the movements and workouts we don’t like or find challenging.
Take an extra 5, 10, or 15 minutes to go back to the basics and practice individual steps and progressions to the movements you find difficult. Or if you’re lacking endurance spend some time on a machine that you would not normally choose to work on if it were up to you. Master the mechanics of those Olympic lifts. Scale your movements to where you can do them safely, properly and efficiently before increasing the intensity and difficulty.
Don’t hesitate to ask for assistance from one of the coaches before or after class. Utilize open gym and mobility classes as they are there for your benefit. Let’s continue to make 2024 a great year!❤️
