EMMETT, Idaho – High drama and fierce open-wheel action returned to Black Canyon Raceway on Friday, May 15th, delivering an exhilarating night of short-track racing that sent shockwaves through the season championship standings. With four events now officially completed for the primary divisions, the regional dirt track saw dominant sweeps, nail-biting podium battles, and razor-thin margins at the top of the points sheets.
- Tweedie Triumphs in Restricted Box Stock Thriller
The Restricted Box Stock division featured one of the most competitive fields of the night, culminating in a spectacular 15-lap A Feature victory for Mountain Home's Skylar Tweedie. Tweedie navigated the track beautifully to take the checkered flag ahead of Nampa’s Neva Crow and Lewiston’s Kobe Burman. This podium reshuffling sets up a legendary championship battle. Neva Crow clings to the division lead with 376 points, but Burman is breathing down her neck just three points behind, and feature-winner Tweedie sits a mere five points out of first place.
- Levi Green Dominates K1 RaceGear Box Stock
In the K1 RaceGear Box Stock class, Caldwell’s Levi Green put on a clinic in absolute dominance. Green enjoyed a perfect night, setting the quick time in qualifying, capturing his heat race, and leading the field home to secure the 20-lap A Feature victory. Kuna's Reed Gaythwaite crossed the line in second, while Jayce Stephenson rounded out the podium. The victory makes it 4 in a row and heavily pads Green's lead in the championship standings, putting him at 396 points and opening up a commanding 40-point cushion over Gaythwaite.
- Mason Green Streaks to Victory Lane in Hammer Down Trucking 250
Caldwell drivers continued their hot streak in the Hammer Down Trucking 250 division, where Mason Green drove to an impressive feature victory over Mason Martin and Bryce Tomassi. Green’s stellar performance solidifies his spot at the top of the class standings with 378 total points. Despite the third-place feature finish, Tomassi remains a dangerous threat for the crown, sitting just nine points back from Green in the runner-up spot with 369 points.
- Muraira Completes the Sweep in Bell Helmets 500 Open
The Bell Helmets 500 Open division belonged entirely to Mason Muraira of Greenleaf. Muraira was unstoppable all evening, securing the fastest lap in qualifying, cruising to a heat race victory, and driving away with the A Feature trophy. This textbook sweep expands Muraira's championship points total to 385 points. Bentley Hull finished second in the feature to hold onto second in the season standings (338 points), while Matt Whittaker finished third.
- Elsts cashes In with PBT Auto Sales Caged Clones Victory
The PBT Auto Sales Caged Clones division brought a stacked 12-car field to the track, but it was David Elsts of Caldwell who stole the show. Elsts set fast time, won his heat, and drove a masterclass in the A Feature to claim a hefty $150.00 payday. Steve Evans brought home a strong second-place finish, followed by current championship leader Mike Whitebread in third. Despite Elsts' flawless night, Whitebread remains the man to beat in the standings, holding a 20-point advantage (308 total points) over Zachery Frazer.
With the 2026 season heating up, the drivers of Black Canyon Raceway continue to prove that every lap, every point, and every position matters.
