One year later, Austin “New Nico” Howard has added rugby to the list.

Heading into year two with Michiana Rugby, he’s proof that there’s no single path into the sport. Some people discover rugby at 8 years old. Some discover it after a lifetime of other sports and decide getting tackled sounds like a fun hobby.

Either way, we’re glad he found his way here.

Last but certainly not least, is the Indiana Men’s Senior Select Side!

Led by Head Coach Taylor Serres of Fort Wayne RFC, Indiana enters Thunderbird Cup competing in the Men’s Cup Division, the highest level of competition at the tournament. This marks Taylor’s third year leading the Select Side and this group is ready to represent Indiana against some of the best competition in the Midwest.

Indiana kicks off tomorrow against Allegheny at 6:00pm CST! Be sure to follow Midwest Rugby Union for live stream information, scores, and tournament updates throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to everyone selected and best of luck this weekend, let’s bring home some hardware for Indiana! 💯🔥🤞

There was just a group of people who wanted to play rugby.

Like every club, we started somewhere. Players came and went. Some stayed for a season. Some stayed for life. But every one of them helped build what Michiana Rugby is today.

It’s that time of year again!

Many of you have probably already seen posts about the Midwest Thunderbird Cup, and we’re excited to officially announce that Indiana will have THREE full select side teams competing and representing Indiana rugby this weekend in Lemont, IL!

➡️ Indiana U23 Women’s Selects
➡️ Indiana Senior Women’s Selects
➡️ Indiana Senior Men’s Selects

The U23 Women kick things off Friday and Saturday, while the Senior Women and Senior Men compete on Saturday and Sunday.

Be sure to follow our social media pages along with the Midwest Rugby Union for schedule updates, player spotlights, match results, and STREAMING information throughout the weekend.

Yes, most matches will be professionally streamed for those who can’t make it in person!
