🫎 THE STANDARD DOESN’T CHANGE.

Three playoff appearances in four years.
Back-to-back seasons among the Midwest’s best.
And plenty still left unfinished.

For the seventh fall season in a row, the boys have voted Patrick to captain Michiana Rugby.

Seven seasons wearing the “C” isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room. It’s about earning the trust of the guys beside you — and continuing to earn it year after year.

He’s helped lead this club through a lot since 2019. Now, with another Midwest campaign ahead and bigger goals still on the table, he’ll once again lead the D3 side into the fight.

We’ve been to the playoffs.

We’ve proven we belong.

Now it’s time to see how far we can take it.

September 12 marks a first for Michiana Rugby this fall — our first D3/D4 doubleheader of the Midwest season.

Two sides. Two league matches. One home field.

The Jazz Moose continue their inaugural D4 campaign, then the Moose officially kick off their D3 Midwest season as we put the full depth of Michiana Rugby on display.

We wanted two sides.
We built two sides.
Now it’s time to pack the Moose Rugby Grounds and watch them go to work.

September 12. Clear the calendar.
The whole herd is home. 🫎🎷
D4 kicks off against Chicago Riot Rugby Club at 12PM EST.
D3 kicks off against White River Rugby at 2PM EST.

Week 1 is in the books, and the Jazz Moose wasted no time putting points on the board. 🎷🫎

Leading the D4 scoring race after the opening weekend:

🏉 E. Grasshorn — 10 points
🎯 N. Rojics — 6 points
🔥 Pepper / Jordan / McGriff / Biggs / Mazur — 5 points each

Eight different names ended up on the scoresheet in Week 1. Not a bad way to introduce the Jazz Moose to Midwest D4 rugby.

And the best part? We’re just getting started.

VICTORY MONDAY WAS FUN. NOW, WHO’S NEXT? 🫎🏉

The season is underway, the Jazz Moose are officially in the win column, and Michiana Rugby keeps growing.

But there’s still room in the huddle.

Haven’t played a sport in years? Come out.
Think you’re too big, too small, too old, too slow, or “not built like a rugby player”? We’ve probably already got three guys like you.

With two men’s sides, there are more opportunities than ever to learn the game, get meaningful minutes, and become part of what we’re building in Michiana.

FINAL: JAZZ MOOSE 43 — REAPERS 19 🎷🫎

The first page of the Jazz Moose story has officially been written.

Yesterday, Michiana Rugby’s D4 side took the field for its first-ever Midwest league match — and walked away 1–0.

43 points.
Plenty of bruises.
At least one face that’s going to need some explaining at work Monday.
And 30+ Moose who showed exactly why we wanted to build a second side in the first place.

This wasn’t about throwing together whoever was left over after D3 selection. This was about creating another legitimate Michiana side — more opportunities to play meaningful rugby, more chances for guys to develop, and more depth throughout the entire club.

And the Jazz Moose came ready to play. 🎷

Coach Doug’s Three Stars ⭐⭐⭐ highlighted three guys who made their mark, while our Boss Hog’s Man of the Match put together a performance worthy of the fancy gold frame.

But the biggest picture from Saturday might be the last one.

Look at how many damn Moose there are (we couldn’t fit them all in the frame).

One club. Two Midwest sides. A whole lot of rugby still ahead of us.

The Jazz Moose are officially 1–0.

D4 has begun.

Now we turn our attention to D3/D4 home doubleheader on 9/12.

The herd is only getting started. 🫎
