This guy, Alex Hoogenboom, I have known since Kindergarten (I was his Kindergarten teacher). It has been an amazing journey watching him grow up, especially the last four years being on the swim team. He went full circle with his high school swimming career. Freshmen year started with Sectionals at Concord and his Senior year ended with Sectionals at Concord. It has been an honor to be able to coach him and watch his swimming progress. Good Luck at Kalamazoo next year!

These boys had an amazing season! I saw amazing growth throughout the season, they worked hard, and became a team. Sectional Finals were yesterday and they all did an amazing job! Bringing down all of their times to be PR’s. Alex Bohlmann ended up being 13th in the 200 Freestyle and 9th in the 100 Breastroke. Alex Hoogenboom placed 2nd in the 500 Freestyle taking an additional 7 seconds off his time and 3rd in the 100 Backstroke. The 400 Freestyle Relay team, Colten Allen, Alex Bohlmann, Emiliano Briones, Alex Hoogenboom, placed 8th taking 11 seconds off their time! Way to go Jimtown Boys!

Senior Night was bitter sweet. I was with Alex Hoogenboom and Chloe McMullin all four years of their high school swimming career. I had the pleasure of coaching Alex Bohlmann for two years and Cameron Moyer for one year. These four will be greatly missed next year!

WOW! What a night! The boys sectional prelims ended on a high note. Alex Hoogenboom is seated 1st for the finals on Saturday in the 500 freestyle and dropped 8 seconds off of his time. He is also seated 3rd in the 100 backstroke and took a second off. Alex Bohlmann is seated 13th in the 200 freestyle and 10th for the 100 breaststroke. Emiliano Briones dropped 4 seconds off of his 200 freestyle and made his goal for the 50 freestyle to go under 30 seconds. Colten Allen dropped 5 seconds off of his 100 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay made it into the top 8! I am extremely proud of all of the boys on the team and can’t wait to see what Saturday holds!

The boys’ last regular meet was tonight against Plymouth and South Bend Washington. They won against Washington and lost against Plymouth. A few highlights from the meet: 200 Medley Relay, Emiliano Briones, Alex Bohlmann, Alex Hoogenboom, Edwin Elizalde, placed 2nd. Colten Allen placed 3rd in ghe 200 Free and 4th in the 100 Free. Emiliano Briones placed 4th in the 200 Free and 3rd in the 500 Free. Alex Bohlmann placed 2st in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 100 Butterfly. Alex Hoogenboom placed 1st in the 500 Free and in the 100 Backstroke. Sam Tefft placed 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke. The 400 Free Relay, Alex Bohlmann, Emiliano Briones, Colten Allen, Alex Hoogenboom, placed 2nd. The next meet is sectional prelims and finals!

The girls ended sectionals on a high note. Brooklyn Johnson placed 16th in the 500 Free and Bella Heintzberger placed 16th in the 100 Back dropping another 2 seconds off her time. The 400 Relay team, Izzy Kulakowski, Addyson Compton, Carmen Stone, Chloe McMullin, placed 8th dropping a total of 9 seconds off their time. The boys were there cheering them on dressed as Minions. This group of girls are amazing. The amount of growth they have shown throughout the season is phenomenal! We had sectional prelims tonight and they swam their hearts out. We had several PR’s where 5-10 seconds were dropped. We also have 2 coming back on Saturday for the finals in individual events, three who are the top alternates, and three relays returning. Way to go lady Jimmies!

We had our Conference Meet today against Tippy Valley, Bremen, and Knox. The boys ended up in 2nd and the girls ended up 4th.

Alex Hoogenboom took 1st in the 200 Freestyle with a PR and 1st in the 100 Backstroke.
Edwin Elizalde took 4th in 50 Freestyle with a PR.
Izzzy Kulakowski took 4th on the 100 Freestyle with a PR.
Addyson Compton took 5th in the 100 Freestyle with PR as well.
Alex Bohlmann took 1st in the 500 Freestyle dropping 20 seconds to end with an amazing PR and also took 1st in the 100 Breaststroke.
Carmen Stone took 4th in the 100 Backstroke with a PR.
Brooklyn Johnson took 3rd in the 100 Backstroke with a PR.
The boys 400 Freestyle Relay (Colten Allen, Alex Hoogenboom, Emiliano Briones, Alex Bohlmann) took 2nd dropping 9 seconds off of their time to end with a PR
As a team overall we had 13 PR’s!
