Whether you're out on a trail ride, showing in the 3ft, or trotting cross rails at home, the risk is always there and it usually happens when you least expect it! Be prepared the next time the unexpected happens!

Ages 6-11: June 19th & 20th, 5-7pm. $190
Ages 12-60: June 20th & 21st 8-12 OR 1-5. $375 (honestly, this is one of the more affordable things you can do in the horse industry! Less than $50/hr to learn some VERY important skills!)

Sign up now before we sell out!

Speaking of ponies... We've got a handful of ponies looking for leases!

Opal - on or off site lease - This beautiful large pony is looking for a kid of her own. Great canter, natural lead change, cute jump. She just needs someone to put miles on her! Large.

Sedona - on or off site lease - Like to kick? This is your girl. She's a chestnut pony mare, but she's got all the right pieces! Big step, lazy lazy lazy, but plenty athletic! Eligible green! Large.

Raven - 2 day MTM on site lease - This darling pony is the walk/trot-short stirrup super star. She really is the best teacher and safe-safe-safe. Medium.

Smokey -- 2 or 3 day on site lease - This quirky pony is fun to ride and very brave! He's cute and charming on the ground. Loves to jump! W/T-SS. Small.

Pandora - 2 or 3 day on site lease - New to the herd but already a crowd favorite. This pony is quiet, comfortable, and fun to jump! W/T-SS super star. Medium.

Eton - 2 day MTM on site lease - The perfect pony for someone who wants to kick. Brave, kind, fun to ride! Large.

The DEC team had a great weekend at the SATP Memorial Day Classic! We had many new combinations competing with lots of learning and growth for all. Highlights include:

Carly P-J and DEC's Starlord took on the $1500 Red, White, and Blue Hunter Derby in the field and ended with a 6th place finish out of 28 entries!

Emily C. and Llanarth Duet had their first show together as a pair. They had tremendous success ending the weekend as the Champion in the Short Stirrup out of a large and competitive group.

Claire L. and DEC's Goldstar TM had their first show in the Children's Pony together. The pair had great placings in a large group of ponies on Saturday and clean swept the division for champion on Sunday. Claire also competed in the 12-17 eq for the first time and had great rides each day.

Rachel M. and DEC's Kopeli CPF had another great show together. They had a great start to the weekend, placing 5th in the $1500 Red, White, and Blue Hunter Derby. They also had consistent placings in the Children's Hunters both days and top placings in the 12-17 eq.

Gavin B. and DEC's Starlord had their first show together as a pair. They had great rides in the .60 jumpers on Saturday and moved up to the .70s on Sunday, where they ended the weekend reserve champion of the .70s.

Melissa F. and DEC's Honor also had their first show together as a pair. They had multiple first place finishes in a large and competitive long stirrup division, and we are excited to see this pair continue to grow together.

Liza J. and her own Holiday Road had another great weekend together. They had great placings in the low children's division and in the combined 12-17 equitation.

Hannah H. and DEC's Knock Your Sock Off had another great outing in the crossrails division together. They had great moments of growth in a large crossrail division. They ended 4th in the crossrail derby and Champion of the division on Sunday.

Saige S. and DEC's Glenhaven Eton had a great outing for Saige's first time in the short stirrup division. They had great rounds with consistent placings with highlights including Saige winning the eq on the flat on Saturday!

LANDSAFE at DEC — June 19-21

Let’s be honest: if you ride horses, you will fall off. Olympic riders fall off. Pony riders fall off. Trainers fall off. It’s part of the sport.

But there IS a safer way to fall!

Our upcoming LandSafe Equestrian Clinic is designed to help riders better understand how their body reacts in emergency situations and teach practical skills that can help reduce the risk of serious injury. Riders work through a variety of exercises and scenarios focused on:
• safer falling techniques
• body awareness and reaction time
• confidence building
• balance and coordination
• learning how to protect yourself when things go wrong

This program is valuable for riders of all levels, from walk/trot riders to serious competitors. Confidence comes not from pretending falls never happen, but from knowing you are better prepared when they do.

We have just 5 spots remaining in our Junior Clinic and 8 spots remaining in our Adult Clinic and spots are continuing to sell quickly. If you’ve been considering participating, now is the time to register.

Adult Clinic (ages 12-60): $375 (Saturday AND Sunday morning 8-12 or afternoon 1-5)
Junior Clinic (ages 6-11): $190 (Friday and Saturday evening 5-7)
Audit: $25 for 1 day, $40 for both days, 60+ audits for free!

Falling off happens. Learning how to do it safely could make all the difference.

While we're off to SATP again this weekend to compete in the Memorial Day Classic, we've gotten our pictures back from the last show there so want to highlight our success from last month!

Stacey B. showed DEC's Endless Joy in the Adult Hunters earning reserve on Saturday, 3rd in the $1,500 Hunter Derby with scores in the 80's, and won the NCHJA Adult Medal both days!
Liza J. showed her own Holiday Road in the Low Children's division to Champion honors both days, earned a 4th place finish in the $1,500 Derby, and were 1st and 2nd in the Low Child Medal on Saturday and Sunday.
Hannah H. and Knock Your Sock Off showed in the Beginner Crossrails sweeping the division on Sunday and earning Champion, with Reserve honors on Saturday and a big win in the Crossrail Derby!
Cleo C. showed her own Oliver Twist Z in the Children's Hunters earning Champion on Saturday with a 2nd place finish in the $1,500 Derby, just 1 point behind the leader.
Emily C. and DEC's Party Girl had great success in the Short Stirrup with 3 second place finishes, 4 third place finishes, a fourth, and 2 fifths. Definitely one of their best showings to date and the pair has a lot to be proud of this weekend.
Anna G. showed her own Royalty Ready to Champion honors on Saturday in the Children's Ponies with consistent ribbons in the eq as well. The pair was also 7th in the Mini Derby.
Julia K. showed DEC's Silver Coated to many good ribbons in the Long Stirrup division including a blue ribbon ride in the Eq over fences and a 4th place finish in the Mini Derby.
Soren C. and Stella Bianca had another fun weekend in the .70 Jumpers earning reserve on Saturday and two firsts on Saturday and two seconds and a third on Sunday. The pair also received blue ribbons in both of their blue ribbon warm up classes.

Help us cheer on our riders this weekend at SATP!

Are you still looking for camps for kiddos this summer? We have limited spaces available!

IEA Bootcamp -- July 20th-24th -- this challenging camp is for riders participating in IEA this upcoming season. There will be tons of pony swaps, equitation exercises, physical fitness activities, and education on all things important about IEA from rules to show attire and proper boot cleaning technique! We offer a morning jumping session and an afternoon flat session, open to DEC riders and riders from outside barns as well!

Junior Jumpers -- August 3rd- 7th -- We literally have just one spot left in this session, and we'd love to have you join us! Junior Jumpers is for riders who can confidently walk, trot, and canter and know their leads and diagonals. Riders are working on jumping and putting together small courses and gymnastic exercises. Great for those just starting to jump through showing in the short/long stirrup. All ages welcome!

Tiny Trotters -- week of August 3rd AND August 10th -- This session is for those who are new to horses and riding. We'll learn about basic horse care, grooming, tacking, and riding. Walking, trotting, and cantering will be the focus, working on diagonals, leads, steering and crossing poles (and small jumps for those who learn quickly and are up for a challenge!).
