It is our pleasure to announce that our summer of learning and riding fun for a group of our young students is kicking off by participating in educational sessions with TWO highly respected professionals this week in the Eventing AND pony hunter disciplines! . On Wednesday, several students traveled to Jigsaw Farms for an introductory lesson on cross-country jumping with Jennifer Rousseau, VP of Education for the USEA. Additionally, this weekend, several students will participate in an educational clinic on pony hunter groundwork, modeling, grooming, riding, and jumping with Ms. Emily Elek of Stonewall Farms who is offering this amazing opportunity to kids who came from all corners of the country to participate . We are blessed to have access to such talented and generous professionals and proud to provide our students with access to such valuable opportunities.

From Emerson Burr's The Pony Book (get your copy here: https://amzn.to/2TVgKeI):

I hope in the pandemic and taking a step back, we can all appreciate how much we've forgotten as a society how to teach young riders to train young animals. I hope we can embrace this more and see riders who have moved up to horses working with young ponies and continuing to use their knowledge, correct riding, and experience to help train the next generation of ponies and earn this sense of accomplishment.

I know Small Greens are very challenging and some riders grow way too fast and need to be on horses, but I would hope that as many riders as possible could experience working on and being part of making up their own Medium or Large Green, even if that rider has long moved on to horses. Teach your children about the process and not just the end result.

Quick in and out horse show today at ledges Sporting Horses w the green/ baby ponies and Lily and Ireland graduated to real courses from short stirrup, And everyone knocked it out of the park w great ribbons all around! Lily even piloted our lil Tilman to some great ribbons at his first show (with us) . And I have never seen Clyde’s socks so white!

Super proud mom, breeder and coach moment: Reserve champion at his very first horse show over fences was my first homebred Westfalen German Riding Pony. 14.1 h large
pony, 4 yr old Carami Poprocket (Popeye x Julep) . could not believe how brave he was seeing “real” jumps and doing his first courses Like a more experienced pony. Jumped every single time, got every stride in the lines, and even popped a couple lead changes . Well exceeding any expectations I had for him and Rachel. Love this guy. now I know why his daddy earned 5 stars for his heritability of his trainability.

Yay!!

It’s finally here and I can share the good news with everybody!

United States eventing Association has finally approved an Intro level division!!

I believe that everybody should be a very versatile safe rider, and have access to entry-level divisions, regardless of the discipline that they go into.

I have a barn full of young riders and useful safe ponies that will have a path to entry into eventing if that’s something that interests them!
