Congratulations to CGG coach Ashley! She was named Park High School’s Athena award recipient. The award recognizes the best senior female athlete at each high school in the state. We are so proud of you!

For the first time we are having OPEN TRYOUTS for our Training Team! The girls on Training Team are ages 5-9 and move up to the competitive team when they have the required skills.
Training Team Tryout: Friday, April 10th from 6:45-7:45
Requirements:
The tryout is open to any student who has an interest in future competition, and meets the below criteria:
- ages 5-9
- is in level 2, 3 or 4 (plus level 1's who have a good cartwheel and handstand).
- is ready to make a year-round commitment to the program starting with the May session. Training Team practices 2x/week for 3 hours each practice. May: Wed/Fri 4:30-7:30 Summer: Mon/Wed evenings (time TBD)
What we look for in Training Team and Competitive Team athletes:
- coachable (is able to listen, follow directions and make corrections)
- willing to try new things and work through fears
- respects their coaches, teammates and the gym
- positive attitude
- LOVES gymnastics and spending time in the gym
At the tryout we will be doing the following:
- basic tumbling
- bars and beam: very basic skills
- testing strength: push-ups, chin-ups, leg lifts, etc
- testing flexibility: splits and bridges

WOW! What an AWESOME weekend of gymnastics at the MAGA Championships (Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association)! We are so PROUD of every single gymnast and team! Each team finished higher than their ranking going in. At their biggest meet of the year, when the pressure was the highest, our girls put in strong performances! This is also the first year we are competing with our new name Cottage Grove Gymnastics (formerly Wolfden).

Teal Stars started us off on Thursday night in Division 13. They were ranked 6th going in, and stepped up BIG time. They came away with a 3rd place finish with a score of 108.85, AND the sportsmanship award! The future is bright for our youngest competitors!

Next up was the Red Stars on Friday afternoon in Division 4. They were ranked 3rd going in, and moved up to 2nd with a score of 125.625! There was so much growth this year, and we are looking forward to big things from this group!

Friday evening brought us the Purple Stars in Division 2. Division TWO! This group has climbed from Division 12 to Division 2 in just three years! They showed up focused and ready to prove they belong among the best of the best. They were ranked 4th going in, and moved up to a 2nd place finish with a score of 133.25. This puts them in the top 10 out of all 150 teams in the MAGA league. They also came away with the sportsmanship award! This team now owns the all-time program records in our gym as a team on bars, beam, floor and team scores. What an incredible group of athletes!

There was no time to celebrate... We were back in the gym at 7 am the next morning for our Orange Stars in Division 7. They were ranked 8th going into the meet, so they had their work cut out for them. The gymnasts were up for the challenge and ready for their turn to shine! They climbed from 8th place all the way up to 4th, with a new season best score of 119.60! There were also many personal bests at this meet!

In addition to the incredible team performances, we also had many gymnasts place in the top 12, and had NINE State Champions!
Division 7: Harper - AA, UB, FX, Abi - BB
Division 4: Gen - BB
Division 2: Emma N - AA, UB, BB, Eden - UB Also of note, in the Child age group in Division 2 our girls swept places 1-3 on both AA and BB (Emma N, Sienna, Ava L)!

This year we had 14 gymnasts qualify to the Individuals competition too! What an amazing accomplishment!

To all of our gymnasts and parents - THANK YOU so much for your incredible support throughout the year! Now onto offseason and new skills for next year!
