Just a reminder- all skaters are required to wear SAHA hockey socks for tryouts, if your daughter needs socks contact Eric Roeske (contact info on the tryout website).

Tryouts have already started for our goalies and go into full swing this week for U12. For Wednesday's U12 pre-skate at Somerset please ensure your skater has a jersey to wear, tryout jerseys will not be issued until the first tryout skate on Saturday. Here are a couple hints which may help ease the anxiety over tryouts-
- Arrive with plenty of time for your player to check in, get her jersey and gear up
- Ask your player if she wants you to stay and watch, some girls like performing in front of their parents and others may feel added, unnecessary pressure having their parents in the stands in addition to being evaluated
- Encourage them to have fun, give their best effort, be a good teammate and "leave it all on the ice"
- Don't grill them about how things went, let them decide how much they want to talk about it

Tryouts are a stressful time for players and their families, a positive and supportive atmosphere will help relieve some of the anxiety and start the season of on the right note!
