🏋️‍♀️💪 DIABLO MEET REPORT | Bummy's Beatdown 💪🏋️‍♂️

Diablo Barbell headed south to the Los Angeles area for Bummy's Beatdown at South Bay Strength Co., and our crew of five lifters brought the energy, the grit, and the hardware.

Tyler “Funky-T” Tuiasosopo made his powerlifting debut in the 275 class and came out swinging with PRs across the board — a 513 lb squat, 357 lb bench, and 507 lb deadlift for an impressive 1,377 lb total. First meet. All PRs. That's a statement.

Jared also stepped onto the platform for the very first time in the 275 class and matched that same energy — PRs on every single lift with a 518 lb squat, 385 lb bench, and 527 lb deadlift for a massive 1,430 lb total. Two debut lifters, two all-PR performances. The future is bright.

Jon returned to the platform in the 205 class and continued building on his competitive journey, hitting a PR deadlift of 419 lbs to go along with a 496 lb squat and 287 lb bench for a 1,201 lb total. Jon keeps showing up and keeps getting better — watch this man work.

Nick stepped onto the competition platform for the first time in the 275 class and showed everyone what he's made of with a 540 lb deadlift that stopped the room. The squat and bench didn't go as planned this time around, but make no mistake — Nick has the foundation, the drive, and the work ethic to come back to that platform and turn heads. This is only the beginning.

And then there's Tom Albert. Competing in the Masters class, Tom came out and nailed his squat and a 330lbs deadlift🏆 Like Nick, the bench didn't pan out on the day — but anyone who has watched Tom train knows what he's capable of. These two are hungry, they're locked in, and the platform better be ready when they come back.

None of this happens without an incredible support system. Massive shoutout to Coach Stephen and Tim Burns for handling our lifters with precision and calm through every flight. And to Alexia, Binay, and Susan for being in the crowd, cheering loud, and capturing every moment — you are the heartbeat of this community.

Five lifters. A room full of PRs. And a whole lot of Diablo grit on display in SoCal.

Happy Father's Day! ❤️

📣DIABLO MEET REPORT | APO West Coast War📣

This past weekend, Diablo Barbell made its presence known at the APO West Coast War, hosted by Relentless Barbell Powered By Kula Sports Performance in Oroville, California - and we couldn't be prouder of how our lifters showed up.

Karen Halm stepped onto the platform for the very first time as a 165 class lifter and delivered a performance that reminds us why we love this sport and how it keeps us propelling forward💪
Karen squatted 369 # ⚪️⚪️⚪️, benched 187 # 🔴⚪️🔴, and when the bench didn't go as planned, Karen didn't flinch - she walked into the deadlift with poise and confidence. The result? A 308 # ⚪️⚪️⚪️ deadlift and a 3lb PR, capping off what would have been an 864lb total. This is Karen's very first competition and she showed great determination and perseverance to go all in! Look out for this lady because she is on the horizon of something big and we are here for it!

Jon Medina made his powerlifting debut in the Men's 220 class and put together an absolutely electric performance - every single lift was a PR. He squatted 524lbs⚪️⚪️⚪️, benched 287lbs⚪️⚪️⚪️, and 402lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️ deadlift for a 1,213lb total and a 1st place finish in his weight class. On day one. Let that sink in. Jon has makes great strides in the gym with his amazing work ethic and adherence to his physical training and Biointegration.

None of this happens without an incredible team behind our lifters. Huge shout-out to Coach Ted O'Neill, Coach Andrea Vitz and Coach Krystle Lecitona Bartlett for masterfully guiding Karen and Jon through every flight with focus and care. And to the people in the crowd - Jon's wife and kids, and Diablo community members Martha Hartvickson and Anita - your energy meant everything.

What stood out most on Saturday wasn't just the numbers.

It was the grit.

It was the determination. The fight.

To stay locked in.

Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

Two Diablos walking into the unknown for the first time and coming out stronger today than when they 1st walked in to the gym.

This is what Diablo Barbell is all about.

Welcome to the platform, Karen and Jon. We can't wait to see what comes next.💪

These are the hands of a 76-year-old who squats twice a week.

We won't show you a 22-year-old's progress photo and pretend it has anything to do with the next twenty years of your life.

Strength is one of the few things that gets more useful with age - for posture, balance, bone density, the stairs in your house, the suitcase in the overhead bin. Done correctly, with one of our expert strength coaches, it is also one of the safest hours you will spend all week.

If you are over 50 and have been waiting for the right room - THIS IS IT.
