Welcome to The Nest!

Please join us in welcoming Holly Webb to the Clinton Middle School Lady Hawks Basketball staff as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

A lifelong resident of Clinton and someone deeply rooted in this community, Coach Webb brings years of experience, passion, and dedication to our program. She has taught 2nd grade in Clinton City Schools for the past 23 years and has made a lasting impact on countless students and families along the way.

Coach Webb attended Clinton Middle School and is a proud graduate of Clinton High School. In addition to her work in education, she has spent more than 25 years coaching youth sports in Clinton, including basketball, softball, and cheerleading.

She brings a true love for basketball, outstanding organization, team spirit, and high expectations to the Lady Hawks program. Most importantly, Coach Webb is passionate about pouring into young people and helping develop not only better athletes, but better humans.

The strength of Clinton athletics has always been built by people who care deeply about kids and this community, and Coach Webb embodies exactly that spirit.

We are excited to welcome her to the Lady Hawks family.

The Professor!

The Professor!

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Josh Tipton to the Clinton Middle School Lady Hawks Basketball program as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

Dr. Tipton has served as an educator for more than 20 years and actually began his career right here at Clinton Middle School as a social studies teacher. During his time in Anderson County Schools, he also coached middle school basketball at CMS and high school golf at Clinton High School.

A proud Clinton High School graduate and former member of a CHS State Tournament basketball team, Coach Tipton has remained deeply connected to this community through both education and athletics.

Coach Tipton believes athletics, much like academics, are about far more than wins, losses, and awards. He sees sports as an opportunity to help young people develop resilience, accountability, confidence, belonging, and personal growth.

His goal is not only to help student-athletes become more skilled players, but also to help prepare them for a successful transition to Clinton High School and beyond.

“Progress, personal growth, resilience, accountability, and building belonging are all significant outcomes of athletic participation. I want to help players become more skilled, but I also hope that when they leave CMS and transition to the high school level, they do so with greater confidence, self-esteem, and determination to pursue whatever goals they have for high school and beyond.”

We are excited to welcome another proud Dragon back home to invest in the next generation of Hawks.

Hawk Pride!

Hawk Pride!

Please join us in welcoming Ally Evans to Clinton Middle School as both a new 7th Grade Science Teacher and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach.

Coach Evans is no stranger to Clinton athletics. A former CMS Lady Hawk, she played varsity basketball all three years at Clinton Middle School before continuing her career as a varsity Lady Dragon at Clinton High School.

Now, she returns to CMS ready to invest in students both in the classroom and on the court.

“I’m so excited to be at CMS next year as a 7th grade science teacher and assistant coach. I attended CMS as a middle school student, and I love this community so much. I’m passionate about helping students discover scientific phenomena and interact with the world around them. I hope to engage students through hands-on experiments and real-world examples.

When it comes to basketball, I played the game throughout school, and it was truly my first love. I’m excited to hit the court and get to work with these Lady Hawks!”

Coach Evans brings energy, school pride, and a genuine passion for working with young people. We are excited to welcome another former Lady Hawk and Lady Dragon back home to help lead the next generation of Clinton students and athletes.

Let’s go!!

Let’s go!!

Please join us in welcoming Carson Richardson to the Clinton Middle School Boys Basketball staff as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

Coach Richardson is a 2025 graduate of Clinton High School and a lifelong Clinton athlete, having played basketball at both Clinton Middle School and Clinton High School. He has been part of Clinton sports since the age of five and understands firsthand the pride, tradition, and community that come with wearing Clinton across your chest.

Even fresh out of high school, Coach Richardson already brings energy, passion, and a strong connection to the younger players in our program. His love for this community and commitment to giving back to the next generation of Hawks and future Dragons make him a valuable addition to our staff.

“This community means everything to me and I am proud to say that Clinton is home! I’m very excited for what the future holds! I’m grateful and blessed for the opportunity to be an assistant coach at Clinton Middle School! Go Hawks!”

We are excited to see Coach Richardson continue the tradition of Clinton athletes returning home to invest in the future of Clinton basketball.

Please join us in welcoming Trace Thackerson as the new Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Clinton Middle School.

A Clinton basketball standout, Coach Thackerson was a key member of the 2022 Clinton High School Dragons State Tournament team — one of only three teams in school history to reach the state tournament.

During his playing career at Clinton High School, he built one of the most decorated résumés in recent program history, including:
• District Tournament MVP
• 3x All-District Tournament Team
• 2x All-District Regular Season Team
• 2x All-Region Tournament Team
• 2022 PrepXtra 2nd Team East Tennessee

Coach Thackerson also holds the Clinton High School single-game assists record with 23 assists and was tied for #1 in the state of Tennessee for assists in a single game.

Now, while finishing his college education, he is returning home to help invest in the next generation of Clinton basketball players.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to come back and be a part of Clinton basketball as an assistant coach.”

There is something special about former Dragons returning home to pour back into the program that helped shape them, and we are excited to have Coach Thackerson helping lead and develop our young men both on and off the court.
