Hyrox classes begin this week. Let’s introduce you some experienced Hyrox racers.
🤝Meet Wayne and Jaclyn Rockwell.
A, now, retired couple who love to train together and share their desire to live healthy and strong lives with others. Wayne introduced Jaclyn, a former collegiate athlete, to CrossFit about 4 years ago. He was a decade into his CrossFit journey and loves that they could do it together. Over a couple years, it went from a mere hobby to a major part of their lives. They trained together for different comps and then Jaclyn asked Wayne to “compete in a Hyrox race” with her. He had no idea what that meant, but he was game! 🤷
With 4 Hyrox races under their belts and a 3rd place finish at their most recent Las Vegas race, this power couple is more focused and dialed in than ever as Hyrox has just announced 8 more races on the schedule for this 2026 season.
Their excitement to share everything health and wellness is apparent as you will often see them in between training efforts chatting with folks, sharing tons of tips and tricks. It’s infectious!
We asked them to share a few things they would want people to know right out the gate as they consider Hyrox racing.
Here are 3 important points for you to
know as you get started.
1) Hyrox is an endurance sport. The race consists of 8 1KM runs with 8 stations of work to be completed in between each run.
“We have learned pacing and fueling are essentials to feeling successful in the race.”
2) HYROX does an amazing job of creating an environment with energy that motivates you to do your best. It feels like a giant class workout where athletes are all working at the same time & everyone is working at their capacity.
“It just ignites you to put your best effort in for that race.”
3) HYROX is a sport where you can compete as a solo athlete, on a 2 person team (F/F, M/M, & M/F) or as a 4 person relay team. You can choose whether you want to compete with moderate weight or heavy weight on the movements.
“We have loved competing together & strategizing how to work smarter to move faster through the race. Teamwork does make the dreamwork when you partner up! “🤝
