Another fantastic day..Had reds next to the boat and saw them but no hookups…
Bluefish was the species of choice today and we had plenty of those…
Light tackle bluefish are heavy pullage on a light rod!…
We caught them…Topwater…spoons..jigs..and also on the fly..
Anyway you could possibly catch them we did..
Bait all over the place…plenty of birds and plenty of bites…
Saw a baby weakfish today on the surface one of the blues spit out…
Both boats on solid bite all morning…
Congratulations are in order to Matt with his first saltwater fish on the fly..

We are currently in a transition phase in the Chesapeake..the bite goes from full summer to fall…
You will see the bait eventually leave the rivers and go deep but in the meantime we have some exciting fishing coming up..
River fishing is one of my favorites..birds..explosive topwater bites..fast moving action..
You will find small areas that are literally loaded with fish..that’s where the time you have spent and the local knowledge comes into play…
Yesterday was a good example of the transition..
We literally had the perfect scenario for topwater..
Current..light wind and no boats..but not as many blowups as I anticipated…
I’m watching this and the wheels are spinning..
So we keep moving until we figured out the bite..
(Plus a couple of calls from other anglers Etc)
Won’t be long we will have massive bird shows..
Migratory Bass will be moving in it will be game time..
Usually here on the shore when they start cutting the corn..the hammers start coming in…😁
I usually have 2 boats running daily and we launch as close to the bite as possible…
Walkon trips are by far the most popular form of chartering for us..
We do though get quite a few private trips..
If you aren’t sure what the walkon trips consist of..please don’t hesitate to reach out..
Some exciting fishing is here already..
When you can catch Bull Reds..Giant Bluefish and Rockfish on light rods casting in a day..I would say that’s pretty exciting….
I was asked yesterday if I have gotten burned out from all of the fishing ?
Not a bit..different crews each day and a different challenge makes it like a new day each trip..
The best part of it all is seeing the excitement of other anglers when they hook these fish…
Plenty of excellent opportunities for trips coming up…

Back to our roots today fishing the always entertaining Topwater rockfish…
I may have mentioned 100 times or so that conditions are the most important part of a fishing trip..
Today certainly proved that point ..had a boat full of excellent casters and landed a few nice fish but the wind…dirty water was a bit to much too overcome…
Kurt and family have fished with me for a long time and it’s always a pleasure to have them onboard…
Crew did an outstanding job of putting the bait right where it needs to be..
Zipster was the bait of choice…
Next trip out we will be rigged with some of the
Lonely angler venom series baits…

Another fun day on the Chesapeake..
Not as fast and furious as the last couple of days but we had opportunities to catch…
Weekend fishing is certainly in a class of its own…😁
Hey we made the best of it..caught some nice fish..had some laughs and had a good day..
Mr Weatherman honestly is horrible…
Out and about tomorrow…wind looks a bit better..
Have a few openings Wednesday and Thursday..
