Congratulations to Tyler Arthur. We recently measured this beautiful stag he shot in Dorchester County last season with a firearm. The gross score is 66 2/8 and the net is 64 1/8 making it the final entry in “Maryland’s Finest” records third edition. We added nearly 500 new animals since the second edition!

Gary Richardson proudly holds his 2019 velvet bow kill he shot in Baltimore County. Gary was 78 years old when he shot this deer with his Mathews bow out of a lockon treestand! Today at 85 he still shoots compound. Pretty cool story you can read about the hunt in the upcoming third edition of “Maryland’s Finest.” Gary’s buck gross scores 133 1/8 and nets in at a typical 130 0/8 making both BBS and PY record books. Congratulations! ( Please remember the deadline to enter deer in this next book is coming up on August 31,2026.)

We are happy to add two great deer to “Maryland’s Finest” records taken by the late Tommy Clagett in PG County. One is his huge framed buck taken as a youth back in 1995 when he was only 13 years old and hunting with his dad. That deer gross scores 166 7/8 and nets 144 2/8. The second was taken 21 years later with his bow and gross scores 142 5/8 with a net of 135 0/8. Both easily made the book. Tommy sure made some great memories in the woods!

Charlie McDaniel harvested this dandy of a stag in Dorchester County during the 2019 fi****ms season. We recently measured the rack at a gross score of 55 7/8 with a final net of 52 7/8 making “Maryland’s Finest” records. The late hunter had these sikas figured out and we are happy to add him into the book!

Mikey Stovall had quite a successful hunting career! We recently added these four animals to “Maryland’s Finest” records posthumously. All four easily made book and the mounts still hang in his memory. We still have three more of his to measure that will likely also make it. He sure knew how to find the big ones!

We have added four more of the late Jonathan Boyd’s deer to “Maryland’s Finest” records. This brings his total to six record book animals including the number one Velvet buck taken by bow and featured in our first edition. Of these four, three are bow kills and one was taken with a muzzleloader. Jon had these deer figured out!
