Post game or post throw routine!

⚫︎ Restore elbow extension
⚫︎ Restore shoulder internal rotation
⚫︎ Improve overhead flexion
⚫︎ Improve ability to maintain and stabilize external rotation

Watch (and save) the video for specific exercise examples we love for each of these.

Good development isn’t random. It’s phased, intentional and built around what matters most in the moment for that specific athlete.

Throwers often have shoulder limitations that stem from their hips.

Many throwers present with a lower shoulder on their dominant arm, often leading to a focus on scap, rib cage and rotator cuff strengthening. But the hip gets ignored.

If the hip on that side is also lower, it could be contributing to the imbalance.

The scap and pelvis work together, so assess both dynamically and statically to address the issue holistically.

Youth shoulder and elbow injuries aren't random.

They’re usually the result of an arm being asked to handle more than the body is prepared for.

Stop treating your kids like they're in the big leagues.

Let’s talk about managing expectations with a UCL repair.

A common question is, “How fast can I get back to playing? When will I be at full performance again?”

For athletes with an internal brace, the timeline is typically around 9–10 months. For those undergoing a full reconstruction, it’s often 12–14 months.

If you’re an athlete going through UCL recovery, it’s crucial to manage your expectations and understand that rehab isn’t linear. There will be ups and downs.

Our best advice? Focus on one milestone at a time.

Getting out of the brace
Lifting and training in the gym again
Getting back to plyometrics
Playing catch
Throwing off a mound

Taking it step by step, instead of fixating on the final return date, makes the process mentally, physically and emotionally easier to handle.

Looking at scholarship offers? Here’s something to note!

Most families hear the words "scholarship offer" and think the hard part is over.

It's not. It's actually where you need to pay the closest attention.

A college scholarship offer in baseball is almost never just one thing. It's athletic money stacked on top of academic money and the ratio between the two matters more than the total number.

Why? Because how much baseball money is in your offer tells you exactly how much that program actually wants your son.

A player on 80% athletic money is not getting cut. A player on mostly academic money with a small baseball portion on top? That math is a lot more complicated when it comes to playing time.

And here's the other thing nobody tells you..

Most programs aren't even fully funded up to what the NCAA allows. A Division II program might be allotted nine full scholarships but only have budget for five and a half. So when they offer you 50% at a school like that, that's actually a significant offer. Context changes everything.

Before your son commits anywhere, make sure you understand what's actually in that offer.

That's exactly what we help families navigate.

Why do UCL injuries happen and how can we lower the risk?

Yes, velocity is king in today’s game. But it also comes with a cost.

Think of it like investing in the stock market. There’s reward, but there’s always risk. So what are the risk factors?

High fastball volume & torque
Range of motion deficits in the shoulder
Strength imbalances in external/internal rotation
Even BMI can play a role

If the shoulder isn’t absorbing force the way it should, guess what picks up the slack? The elbow. That’s why we assess, train and monitor to build long-term durability.
