: EXTRA-BASE HITS ⚾

Home runs get all the hype. But they're not the full power story.

Doubles, triples, and homers all count as extra-base hits (XBH), and that number tells you how often a hitter drives the ball with real impact, not just when it clears the fence.

A .275 hitter with 30 XBH can be more dangerous than a 15-homer guy who's otherwise singles-only.

Don't just look at HR. Look at total XBH.

What's the first stat you check when evaluating a hitter's power? Drop it below. 👇

Running a baseball tournament is about more than getting games on the field.

Behind every event are rosters, schedules, pitch counts, scoring data, field assignments, and hours of administrative work.

When you're managing hundreds of teams, those small tasks can add up quickly.

The right tools can turn hours of manual work into a simpler, more connected process—giving tournament directors more time to focus on running the event.

Less manual work. More time to run the tournament.

We’ve all been there 😂⚾️

Youth baseball has enough chaos without the app adding to it.

Game day should be about the game.

A hit is a hit in the box score—but does every hit have the same impact?

A single, double, triple, or home run can completely change an inning. But the situation matters, too.

A leadoff single in a one-run game can start a rally. A two-out single in the ninth with your team down eight runs? It adds to the stat line, but it may not change the outcome.

That’s why looking beyond the box score matters. The hit tells you what happened. The situation tells you why it mattered.

What matters more to you when evaluating a hit: the result or the situation?⚾️

19 states. Hundreds of teams. Games running across multiple locations at once.

That's the reality Five Tool Baseball manages every tournament weekend, and it's exactly why finding the right scoring system mattered so much.

They didn't just need software. They needed a partner who got it, especially when weather throws the whole schedule into chaos and staff need real visibility across every game happening at once.

Here's how Five Tool put it:

"The main thing for us was being able to collaborate with somebody that had a similar vision with what we were trying to accomplish."

Scorers learned it fast. Staff got the visibility they needed. Game day got easier.

Don't just take it from us, take it from the people actually behind the scorebook at Five Tool Baseball.

No steep learning curve. No admin limit. No designated "scorer parent" required. Whoever's around can jump in, no training needed.

That's the whole point: less setup, less clicks, more baseball.

⚾️ On This Day in History — August 18, 1921

Ty Cobb became the youngest player in baseball history to reach 3,000 career hits, accomplishing the incredible feat at just 34 years old.

More than a century later, it's still one of the most remarkable milestones in baseball history. ⚾️
