What are you letting decide what you can and cannot do?

A real obstacle can become a bigger limit when you start making decisions around it before you ever test what is possible.

You stop taking chances.
You turn down opportunities.
You start building your life around what you think you cannot do.

Josh Yakes had to confront that in his own life.

His disability was real.

But he realized he had also been letting it decide where his limits were.

That was the part he could change.

So ask yourself:

What are you letting hold you back?

Name it.

Then decide whether it still gets that much power.

Dictate your own outcome. Conquer all things.

What would you give up for your kids?

A job. A city. A plan. Even a version of yourself you worked hard to build.

For Jandy Tecson, fatherhood changed what mattered.

He talks about realizing that the life he had built in Puerto Rico was no longer working, and that becoming a father forced him to look differently at what was worth holding onto and what needed to be left behind.

Because sometimes conquering is not about fighting to keep everything.

Sometimes it is about having the courage to let go of what no longer serves the people you love most.

What would you be willing to leave behind for your family?

Who decided what you can’t do?

Sometimes the obstacle is not just what happened to you.

It is the limit you accepted because someone told you that was the life you were supposed to live.

For Josh, that meant separating the reality of his disability from the limitations he had allowed it to place on his future.

His vision was real.

But it did not get to decide what kind of life he could build.

So ask yourself:

What limit have you accepted that may not actually belong to you?

Challenge it.

Then decide what you want your life to look like.

Dictate your own outcome. Conquer all things.

What do you do when the thing you built your life around starts changing underneath you?

Your industry changes. Opportunities disappear. The path that used to make sense suddenly doesn’t.

You can be angry about it. You can admit that it sucks.

But eventually, there is another question:

What are you going to do about it?

Ben Giroux has watched the entertainment industry shift dramatically, including people who were actively working in animation having to find entirely new paths.

His answer isn’t to pretend everything is fine.

It’s to keep making.

Create something. Try something. Adapt. Move.

Because you may not control what happens to the industry around you.

You still control what you do next.

What does conquering mean to you?

To Joshua | Conquer. it represents everything on the otherside of the fight you’re in.

Whatever obstacle, alignment, illnesss, or addiction you’re facing, conquering is just on the otherside of that fight.

It’s the victory of enduring and overcoming something you thought was unconquerable.

It’s the strength, the hope, the power, the love, the pride of never giving up on yourself against insurmountable odds.

It’s the physical, the mental, the emotional, the spiritual; it’s the mastery of oneself gained through struggle.

But what’s it mean to you?

Some of the hardest things people are conquering are the things you’ll never see.

For six months, Ben Giroux couldn’t run.

He was dealing with excruciating pain, the worst physical injury he had ever experienced, and there wasn’t a shortcut back.

Recovery meant listening to his body. Slowing down when he needed to. Learning how hard he could push without setting himself backward. And accepting that getting back to 100% wasn’t going to happen all at once.

But the injury gave Ben something else too: perspective.

It reminded him that every day, people around us are fighting battles we know absolutely nothing about.

They’re recovering. Rebuilding. Adjusting. Trying again. And sometimes, simply getting through the day is part of the fight.

Conquer Stories is about those fights.

The ones that change us, challenge us, and show us what we’re capable of becoming.

Sometimes conquering the day doesn’t mean pushing harder. It means accepting what you can’t control, adjusting the plan, and taking action on what you can.

When Josh realized his eyes needed a full day of recovery, he didn’t spend the week fighting it. He rebuilt his schedule, moved meetings, protected the time his body needed, and kept going.

That’s the work.

Not pretending the obstacle isn’t there. Not waiting until everything feels perfect. Looking at what’s in front of you, making the next decision, and seeing if the strategy works.

Conquer Journal is about the real work behind becoming stronger. The setbacks, adjustments, discipline, doubt, recovery, and decisions nobody sees.

Sometimes the fight is knowing when to stop fighting the wrong thing.

Antonio knew something wasn’t right.

His gut was telling him the situation was becoming dangerous for his health, but he kept pushing through it. Looking back, he wishes he had trusted himself sooner.

There’s strength in pushing forward.

There’s also strength in recognizing when something is costing you too much.

Have the hard conversation.
Trust what your gut is telling you.
Fight for yourself, too.

Because the right people won’t leave you fighting alone.

Conquering does not mean conquering everything.

You can still be right in the middle of your fight.

You can still have setbacks.

You can still have things you have not figured out.

You can still have a long way to go.

And you can still make progress today.

Maybe it is overcoming one excuse.

Moving through one obstacle.

Doing one thing for yourself that only you know you are doing.

That is enough to put you on the right track.

Conquer is not about perfection.

It is about continuing to face what is in front of you.

What is one thing you can do for yourself today?

What happens when the person you were is gone?

Antonio survived the fight for his health. Then he came back ready to return to his life and found out his job was gone.

His words hit me:
“That was who I was.”

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what happens to you.

It’s figuring out who you are after.

You can’t always go back.

So what do you build next?

That’s Conquer Stories.
