It's been a month since the passing of Salvador Cocco
For those of you who may not know, we are a family run business, the Cocco family.
Without Salvador (dad), Pansardo would not exist.
Pansardo was born with the idea to share our Sardinian food heritage and to promote the Blue Zone lifestyle. Over time our product offerings have expanded to include regional Italian goods, which we carefully select.
On April 11, 2026, a tragic accident took our Salvador's life away.
While on his routine bicycle ride, which he had been doing for the past 10 years, he was hit by a car while on his way back home.
Dad was a passionate business man, he loved to constantly find ways to invest in new ideas and product innovation, and even if some didn't stick, he was always dreaming up a new project. Giving up was not in his vocabulary.
He was a citizen of the world, born in Spain, raised in Sardinia and briefly in Germany; he loved traveling around the world, but especially in the American Southwest; he loved geography and on every trip we took he'd be able to give us an historical fact about the place, he was like our built in tour guide.
He never pretended to be someone he wasn't, what you saw is what you got, he knew who he was and was always true to himself, he wasn't scared to admit when he was wrong.
The thing he loved the most was his family, he always put us first, made sure we were taken care of and kept us protected.
There's truly no amount of words that will ever be able to describe the pain and suffering this tragic accident has caused to our family and the void left behind.
Thank you everyone for your support in this difficult time and for keeping our family close to your prayers.
Thank you to those who showed up for his celebration of life and to Floral Artistry of Sanibel for the beautiful flower arrangements.
