Morihei Ueshiba would often lecture at length speaking of Shinto gods - but the lectures weren't about Shinto, they were about Aikido, expressed using Shinto language and imagery. Many people failed to understand this, and much of Morihei Ueshiba's technical explanation went ignored and misunderstood.

Morihei Ueshiba would perform various rituals before training, such as rowing (included in the Rites of Spring graphic) that can also be seen in Shinto rituals.

But they weren't about Shinto either.

They were specific physical and technical internal power development and dantian development exercises for Aikido.

Many people failed to understand this, and much of Morihei Ueshiba's technical instruction went ignored and misunderstood.
