WHAT A DAY. WHAT A MILESTONE. WHAT A COMMUNITY.

Yesterday, September 3rd, was a day we will never forget! ❤️

We were honored to commemorate this incredible milestone with distinguished guests, including Maryland Governor Wes Moore and First Lady Dawn Moore, as we officially opened the doors to our beautiful new home.

We were so grateful to have public officials, friends, neighbors, dancers, families, teachers, and members of our community join us to celebrate this special moment. 🩰✂️🎀

This ribbon cutting was about so much more than opening a building. It was about celebrating the people, hard work, support, and belief that brought us to this moment—and creating a place where dancers can grow, build confidence, make friendships, discover their passion, and feel like they belong.

Yesterday reminded us that a building is just a building until you fill it with people, purpose, and possibility.

And yesterday, this place was filled with all three. 🥹❤️

To everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, danced with us, taught with us, built with us, and believed in us—THANK YOU.

And a very special thank you to Pat Siebert for beautifully capturing these memories for us. 📸

The ribbon may have been cut, but our next chapter is just beginning.

A dancer, choreographer, and Goucher College graduate, Nalani brings a beautiful background in Ballet, Modern, Liturgical, West African, and more. We can’t wait to have her share her passion, artistry, and experience with our dancers! ✨

There’s something extra special about celebrating birthdays at MSDC because we get to watch our dancers grow—not just as dancers, but as people. ❤️

CONSTRUCTION MONDAY! 🏗️✨

We have a FINISHED studio! 🎉🩰 Meet MOTION — one of the beautiful new spaces in our new home!

And the best part? We were even able to rehearse in here today! 🥹❤️

After a FULL week of construction, it felt so good to have our dancers back together and dancing in our new space!

So much is still happening behind the scenes, but watching our new home come to life is SO exciting. 🏡✨

Miss Donna is STILL smiling! 💜

After months of preparing for our Open House, yesterday was such a SUCCESS! We welcomed so many wonderful new families into our MSDC community, and our hearts are FULL. 🥹✨

And guess what?! There’s still time to join us! Registration is still open, and we kick off our new season on Saturday, September 12th! 🩰

Our new home is coming together, but there’s still LOTS to do! 🛠️👀

✨ OUR LEGACY DOOR ✨

What a special day at Morton Street Dance Center! ❤️

The first 100 returning dancers to register had the opportunity to leave their handprint on our Legacy Door—a lasting symbol of the memories, friendships, and moments they’ve created here.

Their handprints will remain for years to come, reminding us that while our building may change, our legacy lives on through our dancers. 🖐️❤️

A truly special day celebrating the past, present, and future of MSDC. ✨

There's a person at every great organization who holds everything together — who shows up quietly, works tirelessly, and makes the impossible look easy.

At Morton Street Dance Center, that person is Julianna.♥️✨

If you've ever received a timely email, a smooth registration experience, or just felt like Morton Street had it all together — there's a good chance Julianna had something to do with it.
