Coalition 3 - 4/18/26
Alex and Alyssa were both set to fight last Saturday. Alex coming off a 2nd round stoppage win only a month ago and Alyssa coming off her A-Class win at USMTO last fall.
Alex’s opponent pulled two days before the fight, citing an injury. We hope he gets well enough walk around and get back to training soon. Alex had a potential replacement opponent and we accepted at a higher weight, but after some consideration of actually taking the fight and not just talking about it, his replacement opponent also pulled, leaving Alex with a spectator ticket and the tough, but honest reality of leveling up through camp without the fun of the fight.
Alyssa fought one of the toughest fights of her career in a five round title fight against a well decorated, fast, 9-1 opponent. Alyssa had a goal to take a fight at a lower weight, and she did that gracefully, making weight and carrying herself like a professional thru to the final bell. The fight was a barn burner from start to finish. While we didn’t walk away with the win, Alyssa’s eyes were sharp and she made every adjustment asked of her ringside and in the corner, fearlessly entering the fifth round like a freight train and making sure the crowd remembered her performance; a fantastic and exciting display of Muay Thai and heart in that ring. We don’t take easy fights and Saturday was no exception.
BIG thank you to the promoter and matchmaker for the opportunity, the refs and judges who take the time to understand our sport, fans, sponsors, Messengers in attendance, at home, and in class helping us get prepped. We had an amazing evening! ZERO thanks to the TDLR rep in our corner for being a dick, barking arbitrary/inconsistent demands, and adding stress for the 15 minutes we shared - we are professional, experienced, kind people and you should be too.
Let’s do that s**t again sometime!
