It’s been 7 days since we wrapped up the Super5 series with our double header at MRC and RIR and what a great weekend it was.

Thanks to all those who attended, especially to those who travelled from out of town, it was mint to see you all here. Thanks to Jules for all his work making super5 happen and thanks to our awesome MRC club members for making our club what it is. Thanks also to Tyler and Chris for putting their hand up to take care of timing on Saturday it was a huge help.

It was great to see our guys representing the club so well, from our new racers through to our regulars. Charlie and Spencer Croad are getting better every raceday and now have some well earned trophies to adorn their shelves. The boys took 1st and 2nd overall in juniors for the series. Well done lads, your driving has progressed in a short time and we all look forward to seeing you continue to improve and achieve in outdoors next season.

Another one of our young guns, Noah Dudley has really had a break out series. On Saturday at MRC Noah took out 1st in 2wd SCT and 2nd in Stadium truck and then went on to secure a series 3rd overall in Stadium truck and 2nd overall in 2wd SCT. Awesome work Noah your driving is really getting sharp bud.

Lastly our resident Vintage assassin:-Mr Elton Tauwhare-Lambert. Elt put in strong showings both days with his Top Force and RC10 taking Saturdays top spot in 2wd vintage and then 2nd overall in both 2wd & 4wd Vintage for the series. Shot Elton, your passion, humour and BBQ smoker are always a pleasure to have at the races, and your last lap, last corner pass in 2wd vintage where you jumped over Jules for the win was an absolute ripper.

Once again thank you to all who came to race toy cars with us,keep warm, stay safe, keep smiling and we hope to see you at Super5 next year.

Morning team. have had some questions about start time tomorrow and just want to clarify what Jules has mentioned.

We are aiming to start first race as close to 8.30am as we can and this will be E-Buggy.

Evening everyone. Just a few things.

Tomorrow (Friday) Track open for practice from 11am - 3pm. Will be a table with power for chargers. I will be in and around most of that time getting different things ready.

Please try and pay online by tomorrow night, it’s gonna be a busy Saturday and we don’t wanna chase entries. If you’re doing cash bring it to timing tent as soon as you arrive Saturday.

If you don’t know what you owe coz you didn’t get the entry confirmation email you can work it out by $20 first class plus $5 for every other class. Junior racers $10 only. Please include your name in the reference.

Wow big push today, much bigger day than I thought it would be but great to smash it out. Many thanks to Mike for installing the new water line and two new taps so we can run two watering hoses or two sprinklers. Also thanks to Stihl Shop Masterton Hire shop for sponsoring the trench digger, it’s awesome to have local support to help us do what we do. Thanks Andrew Dudley for bringing your tipper truck and your time, and to the young fellas Spencer, Charlie and Ryan, you boys worked hard all day, I was thoroughly impressed.

Today we had a good clean up of the track, with mowing, raking up leaves, removing rocks, tidying the back of the berm and scraping off the last of the grass on the new chicane. Charlie and Spencer both did their bit on the ride-on lawnmower packing in different areas and all 3 boys helped Mike Andrew and I with whatever we needed all day which was awesome.

We also ran a new timing loop under the track using conduit to protect the wire and terminating the hook-up point at a handy in-ground access box. We tested the loop and it is working perfectly, so she’s all ready for next Saturday’s super5 round.

The Super5 entries are starting to stack up with lots of top talent already locking in. Aside from Nationals, these super5 rounds are proving to be an event that brings together the top 1/10 outdoor off-road competitors from around the north island. If you want to be part of a top level double header event weekend that caters to all and promises to deliver amazing racing you need to be at MRC and Raukawa International Raceway this weekend Sat and Sun 30th & 31st of May. Entry links below.

With our new location at the Solway Showgrounds Masterton A & P Association we can also offer powered camping sites with access to toilets and showers for $10 a night so if you want to stay Friday or Saturday night on site you are more than welcome. Message or phone the Showgrounds to book a spot.

Lastly our track will be open Friday from 11am-3.30pm for any early birds wanting to get familiar with the track.
