Our thoughts and love are going out to Sautia and his family in this time.

Our Brother, SAUTIA MISA is currently fighting for his life in hospital. During the 2025 season, he proudly coached our U7’s Lightning team, dedicating countless hours to helping our tamariki learn the game.

He helped build his players confidence and create lifelong memories. His impact reached far beyond the football field. He gave his time generously, always with a smile, a kind word and a genuine passion for our Club and his players.

Sautia was also a Senior Player and part of our Topside team.

He is now facing the toughest battle of his life. Our hearts are with him, his partner, his children and his entire family.

As a Club, we know the strength of our League Community. We have seen time and time again how people come together when one of our own needs support. Today, we are asking for your prayers, your love, your positive thoughts and if you are able, your financial support for the family during this incredibly difficult time.

A massive congratulations to Fred Ah Kuoi on being recognised in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours as a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM).

Fred Ah Kuoi Kiwi #522 was always a special talent in junior club football and emerged as a schoolboy wonder for Richmond in the 1970s. Fred was member of the Bill Sorensen-coached Auckland team which completed a clean sweep against Australia, Great Britain and France in 1977. He went on to play for North Sydney before a highly decorated career with Hull. Fred was barely 19 when he made his Test debut against Australia in the 1975 World Cup. Initially used on the wing, he excelled once he found a spot at standoff or in the centres. Fred finished his Kiwi career in 1985 with 28 Tests and 47 matches in all and captained the Kiwis in four Tests for four wins.

In 2023, he was inductied into the ARL Immortals and Hall of Fame!

What a legacy.
