Great hit out for first Galaxy pre-season training. Some good results on the 460s test, with Albie and Presley running 1250 and 1230 metres respectively.

Trainings are now twice a week - Wednesday nights, 6.00pm and Sunday mornings 10am at Dunkirk Reserve. We expect more to attend as winter sports season comes to an end.

Council will soon start renovating the fields, so watch this page, email and/or text messages for field changes. Be mindful also that Auckland representative trials will be on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday September 13th at College Rifles Rugby Club, Haast Road, Remuera.

Dust off your boots and stretch your hammies. Our 1st Galaxy Auckland training for the 2026-27 season is this Sunday, August 23rd. Young, old and very old players most welcome. 10am-12pm at the MECCA, Dunkirk Reserve, Panmure. We are Galaxy! Come join us!

At last week's Auckland Masters prizegiving, Peter Walters was presented with a lifetime achievement award by the Auckland Touch Association.

In presenting the award, Board member Rhonda Togipau said, "we are exceptionally proud to recognise 'Mr Touch, Pete' for his years of unconditional service to the game of touch. He is our local mātua/ home ground hero and continues to be a role model in our Auckland Touch community and he is recognised Nationally and Internationally for his service to touch."

Pete's latest award adds to a growing list of recognitions he has received over the last ten or so years including:

Touch NZ Distinguished Service award

NZ Order of Merit award, presented by the Governor General

Being featured on the documentary, The People's Game, with a full episode dedicated to him

Being sought for his touch expertise all over the world from countries as far away as Italy and China

No doubt the awards and recognitions will continue.
