** Please note that any TCC ex players/supporters/family members are welcome to join this tour. At this stage, it appears with the interest so far, we will be taking 2 x teams - 1 x year 5/6 and 1 x year 7/8 **

As part of the Taradale Cricket Club 150th celebrations, we are offering players and parents the opportunity to play and visit Sri Lanka in the April school holidays in 2027.

Congratulations to Kate McKenzie and Reese Drager who have been accepted to participate in NZCโ€™s Mana Wฤhine Coaching Collective! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The Mana Wฤhine Coaching Collective, is a new New Zealand Cricket initiative focused on strengthening and supporting wฤhine in leadership and coach development roles.
The collective will bring together coach developers, regional leaders, and local leaders who are passionate about supporting women and girls in coaching and driving inclusive practice within our cricket environments. ๐Ÿ

Itโ€™s with sad news that I post the news of the passing of Dennis Wensley Ralph Smart . The father of our great friend Jaime โ€œMaxiโ€ Smart .
Dennis was an absolute great supporter of our beloved club for many, many years โ€ฆ principal sponsor from his company Manchester Unity for a long time in the hey day of premier cricket thru the 90s and early 2000s. Dennis made sure Taradale kept on the field with financial backing and great support .
When we won in 89-90 he was so proud . Even when we won in 2001 Dennis was first in the changing rooms with a box of beer an absolute broad smile and a handshake with each and all of us!
Dennis was a great man who loved his family , he was very proud of Jaime and Anna , a great husband to Kerry . Not only cricket Dennis was involved in HB rugby with his great friend Blair furlong . I was honoured to be invited to his place on many many occasions for a wine a cigarette and to be involved in many chats about our beautiful game cricket ! Dennis often referred to people by their first names but always referred to me as sumo โ€ฆ you meet some special people in your life and Iโ€™m happy I got to meet Dennis and he was one of my mates!
My condolences go to Kerry (his wife) and Anna his daughter at this time โ€ฆ Iโ€™ll never forget the absolute joy and smile on his face when Maxi got 101* to win a game v havelock one day , he sat in the sheds with us and enjoyed that beer as a proud father would !
Thank you Dennis you were one in a million . We will miss you . Rest well mate . Your mate Sumo .
